We are on the Summit in July. We have already checked in. Trying to make reservations at Tuscan Grill and it appears that every time slot is unavailable. Is it too early or is it actually completely booked up?

Thank you for any insights you can share!

Definitely not too early.  We sail on Beyond in October, and I booked our specialty restaurants several months ago.

They only open a percentage of reservations for pre-cruise booking.  Check as soon as you board.  You may have to be slightly flexible for dates and times, but if you do it first thing, you should be able to book.

Last year November we had a hell of a time trying to get reservations at Tuscan Grill on the Constellation.

Without going deep into the circumstances, we would make a reservation and they would call back later rescheduling, this happened 3 times.

We could not get our reservation until the night before debarkation, declined.

Our group has decided not to do specialty dinning again.

MDR is great !

Fortunately neither, but you are too late for the first release of dates/times and as already mentioned you may not be able to get the exact date/time you wanted, but with a little flexibility you may still be OK.

It really is essential to deal with the reservation as soon as you are onboard though, as there will be a lot of people who have purchased speciality dining packages doing the same thing, as they are not able to make advance reservations with those packages.

I've recently been booking for a cruise 7 months out and there is already very little availability for advance reservations, so looking a month ahead for your cruise was a little too hopeful unfortunately.

Good to know. We’ve only cruised twice before on Celebrity - once many years ago and once this past December on the Millennium. There were fewer than 500 people on the cruise so didn’t seem to be an issue. We were in a Penthouse Suite and they were very accommodating.

Are you in a suite this time?  If all else fails, you may try calling the shoreside concierge at the 877-RETREAT number and see if they can cram you in.  It worked for me on my Edge sailing back in April.

We are on the Summit now and Tuscan booked up quickly. They have space available for late dinners (close to 9pm) only. If you really want to go, you should probably try to book as soon as you get on the ship or keep trying the app (if they open additional spaces). Good luck.

Definitely keep checking pre cruise though as sometimes people do cancel.  When I booked our first night at Tuscan we could only get an 8 pm slot.  I kept checking and a 6:30 finally opened up.  As I was hoping to take advantage of the sunset on sail away I jumped on it.  Plans change so it’s possible something opens up.

It looks like I’ll have to wait until we board. It keeps telling me that all time slots are taken.
I’m actually looking for a later time slot - 8/8:30 - and still nothing.
Lesson learned.  Appreciate everyone’s feedback!

We just got off the Summit today.  A few months back they had a sale for 30%off Tuscan for the first night, but the only time available was 8:00.

I made the reservation, but once onboard I  saw that there was something I wanted to do at 8:30(slot tournament), so I went to Tuscan and asked if there was anything earlier available.  They were able to move my reservation to 6:00.

So it's quite possible to try once onboard.

We were on the Summit a couple of weeks ago and there was always a long line on deck 4 Select Dining.  I got reservations several months before the cruise online.  We chose 5:30 dining (thus the Earlydiner name) each night.  After them showing us our table on night one, we loved our waiter and assistant waiter.  On our way out of the dining room that night,  we locked in that table  for the remainder of the cruise.  So we ignored the lines and proceeded directly to our table each night.   Most nights, our waiter was waiting for us at the dining room door and escorted us to the table.  Yes,  you get some dirty looks but that beats waiting for 30 minutes in line.

We prebooked the Tuscan Grill on the Silhouette in March.  The only time we could get online was after 8PM so we took it.  When we arrived, the place was almost empty and we could have gotten a table much earlier.  They do hold back a significant number of bookings for onboard reservations.  Check onboard.

Interesting.  Five of us were on the Constellation in March.  Ship was probably 1/3 full.  The first night while sitting in a bar enjoying pre-dinner drinks, we were approached by one of the crew to purchase a meal in the Tuscan Grill.  We picked lunch for a day that we didn't arrive in port until 3:00. The day before my husband attended a free steak-grilling demo in the Tuscan grill and garnered a $5 coupon off for each of us to use at that lunch.  All five of us thought the food there was good, but not much better than that in the MDR. So, I wouldn't feel too bad if you can't get reservations.

I was just on the Summit for 10 days.  There were no openings to reserve before the cruise.  Once on board there were plenty.  We went on night 3 and found the food much better than the MDR, so we booked again for the last night.

Were any discounts provided?  We have booked the first night at a discount rate.  Thank you!
