Jim thank you for taking us along with you.  I am finally caught up.

Early on you said that Zeniths, Concierge and b2b are invited to the concierge lunch.   Is that unique to Summit?  That is not the case on Equinox.  I will be doing a b3b on the Equinox Jan/Feb 2023.  I am Elite+.  How can I make that happen?

Enjoy your cruises.  Love following and learning.  This review has gotten warm and fuzzy.

You will be invited to the concierge lunch on your two turnaround days. Not on the first cruise.

I asked because on my b2b on EQ this past Feb I did not receive an invite to that lunch.

I failed to mention that I was in a 1A cabin category.

Your cabin category has nothing to do with it.  If you are a back to back cruiser, regardless of what sort of cabin you are occupying, you may attend the concierge class luncheon on the first day of the cruise.  I don't believe one receives a separate invitation, the information may be included in the B2B information one receives.  I've done several B2Bs, but I don't recall how the luncheon was announced.

Lunch

We didn’t make it to lunch until 1:10. To our surprise everyone was on our Late schedule.  We had to wait for a table and 4 couples were behind us.

Oh, my gosh. That's my dear friend Ginny R. Please send love from Johanna & John if you see her again. Ginny is a wonderful writer. Ask her about her latest. She'll be surprised and delighted. Jim, I've followed your journeys. You have a fine eye for detail. You also have a beautiful upbeat spirit. You're a pleasure to read. Best wishes and happy sailing.

What the couple from Mendocino told us the Fine Dining Restaurant a Heritage House is currently only serving Breakfast.   Their website is saying they hope to resume Dinner service in Summer of 2022 - hmmm..  Covid has taken such a huge toll on so many places.

The Harbor House is a real treat.   Just make sure you can get Dinner Reservations prior to deciding you you stay if you wish to dine in the 25 seat restaurant .   They are a 2 Green Star Michlien Farm to Table local sourced.  For a real teat arrange dinner in your room.  Their tasting menu at about $250pp is a delight and very memorable.

If I recall they are closed the Restaurant is closed on Tuesday's and Wednesday.

It looks like a beautiful place. We will have to go sometime.  We will be on the 11 night Boston round trip next year so I am looking forward to your posts for that portion of your trip!

I'll be on the Equinox for a B2B at the end of September and I'll let you know the current policy.  I don't ever remember being invited to the Concierge lunch on previous B2B's but I'll ask around if I don't get an invitation.

I heard from a guest on   our roll call that tested positive 2 days ago.   They are isolated in original veranda cabin and said they were being well taken care of.  Will be retested at 5 days and if negative will be able to enjoy the ship again.

If they are a B2B passenger I wonder if they will be able to stay on the ship or if they will be forced to get off in Iceland. I also wonder what happens to any other passengers in the cabin if they test negative.

Lived my whole life in Lindenhurst, right on the South Shore of Long Island.  Moved to Florida in retirement for the weather and lower taxes and cruise ports!  But I miss Fire Island. Most beautiful beaches and beach communities I've ever been to !

Thanks for your wonderful cruise reports. Always informative and joyous ! Makes me remember everything I love about cruising .

Another ex-Long Islander!  How many have now posted?  I'll add my name to the growing list!  I grew up in Hempstead through grade school - Our Lady of Loretto (wonder if she's still there?), then moved to Hicksville for two years, then on to Bayport in Suffolk County, where we lived till moving to Florida in 1978.  And Smmssineo, you are so right about Fire Island and its beaches and villages.  Spent many a summer weekend over there, first with our parents, and then on our sailboat with our children.  What a beautiful place for children as well as parents!!  Such wonderful memories you just brought back to me!  Thanks!!!!!

That's my biggest concern about our upcoming cruise on the Summit. We've sailed 4 times this past year and not gotten Covid once so far (knock wood). We'll be following our same protocols, avoiding elevators and  crowds when possible, masking indoors, washing hands and doing everything we can to avoid the virus, but know it's still very possible to get it, especially with the ship expected to be close to full capacity. Would just hate to spend a bunch of days stuck in a cabin with no access to fresh air.

I followed the same protocols and was successful until we came down with it.   I swear this variant is  really contagious.    Can't believe how many I know who have come down with it.   At least with Vax symptoms have been minimal.

My experience has bee that is true on every ship.   I am not sure of the E-Class but know it is true on Silhouette, Equinox, Millennium and Summit.

When on Equinox I saw a Blu guest try to go and was politely denied.

I don't believe I have ever received an Invitation.    I'll check when we have our B2B meeting but I seem to remember that it was written on the B2B instruction.    I would believe you only qualify on the leg between the cruises.

They were not B2B but she did say they are talking to Future Cruise and hoping to book the return so they can see the ports they missed.   She did say but we will have to travel in an inside or OV.   I think it will be possible to continue.

While I don't know for sure,   If they continue to test positive they would be able to stay aboard until they test negative x number of days in a row.

I'll ask and see what I can find.

What a beautiful day.    I was worn out and just took a nap.   I dropped off in far too deep of a sleep and now feel terrible..... I'll have to shake it off.    LOL.    Iain, that swine, took a video of me snoring which is something I seldom do.

I love a cat nap but this one was a full on knock out.

Today was our first Tender Port.    They started handing out Tender Tickets at 6:30 and first tenders were about 7:15-7:30.   Initially they announced the tenders were very empty.   About an hour later they were calling numbers and delays quickly started building.

We had a small group tour at 12:30 so we went down to Retreat at 10:45.    After about 15 minutes we were escorted to the tender area.   We were near the front of the line but still waited about 25 minutes for the Tender to arrive and the guest to disembark.    All I can say is it was painful to watch how many guests had no clue how to   click their card and remove hat and pull down mask.

We boarded and decided to sit on upper deck and probably another 20 minutes to fully load with full limit of 120 passengers (I believe that was the full capacity limit).

All I an say is be patient.

We’re boarding August 19th and I’m happy to hear this is the protocol. We have an aft FV with an inside cabin across the hall for the teens. Have been anxious about one or both cabins being “upgraded” due to covid positive passengers staying on, but it seems like their plan is to move anyone who must stay aboard. I have to say, for selfish reasons I hope the B2B passengers do end up testing prior to turnaround (sorry!). Hadn’t thought about it until just now, but if the numbers are high it would be safer for those of us boarding on Friday. Loving your photos and commentary, Jim!

Have you ever tried a con panna?  This is my husband's favorite - three shots of espresso with some whipped cream.  Have been cruising vicariously through your cruise travels this year.  We had reservations for the Silhouette's June 11 Iceland/Ireland.  Then I had a slip and fall accident at a local store, fractured my left kneecap in half, and had to cancel.   Really appreciate the time you take to post on Cruise Critic.  Wishing you continued good health and safe travels on your journey.
