New beverage policy?

Just got an email about my upcoming Bahama's cruise which said:

THE CARNIVAL BEVERAGE POLICY.

To ensure our under-21 guests don’t consume alcohol, we require picture ID and no longer allow guests to bring bottled beverages on board.

Does this mean we can no longer bring a bottle of wine per adult on board?

I asked the same question when I read my email. I did read the policy but, I thought perhaps the web was not updated. With many changes taking place, you never know. Just a misleading ad. The good news is you can bring one bottle per person. Happy Cruising to you.

Answered my own question by searching on the webpage - bottle of wine per adult is still allowed.

Yes, correct - 1 bottle of wine per adult is permitted.  What they mean by no "bottled" beverages is twist top bottles of liquids like water bottles.  This is to keep people from smuggling booze on.

You can take 1 - 12pk of canned beverages like soda still though

Am I crazy or didn't they ban any bottled beverages years ago?

I would be equally as crazy as I also think the changes to the bottle policy allegedly due to "smuggling" happened well before covid.

Interesting. I remember reading about people bringing on those pre-made protein drinks like Ensure, PureProtein etc when they may have been on a diet or dietary restrictions. Wonder if this kills brining those on since most are twist off plastic bottles. (Granted, you can get canned versions of most of those)

Count me in with the crazy group.  As I was reading I was thinking the same thing.  Wonder why they sent it since it has already been in place?

so what's the real change then?

they are going to start carding people for every adult beverage purchase? need to carry your ID around the ship????

Your ID is your S&S card.  When they swipe it, the system will let them know if the person is underage.
