I'm on the $0 annual fee card but the offer I got was spend $500 get $175 back. I was looking for a cashback offer on NCL but saw the Celebrity one.

NCL ones pop up every once in awhile. I just had a NCL one for Spend $1,000 get $300 back.

I also just had a Royal Caribbean one for Spend $1,000 get 25,000 MR Points.

So I've heard. Been told I just missed it 😞 Was hoping to go on a cheap cruise in February so I doubt I will see it by then.

How much is the daily grats? I've got a Blue Chip coming up in March that I'll need to pay the grats for. Thinking about just buying $500 OBC and letting grats come out of that. I got the spend $500 get 17,500 Member points. I've done these multiple times. Recently had a spend $1000 on RCL and get $250 back.

Sounds like a good plan. https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/gratuity-program

Another tip if you have AMEX and do not see the offer...

AMEX offers only show 100 offers at a time...If you see you have 100ish offers waiting to be added and do not see Celebrity as one, add a bunch of offers even if you have no intention of using the offer and check tomorrow and the day after

I'd prefer the cash but I know everyone says miles are worth more.

I REALLY hope the OBC we're going to buy on our already paid in full cruise will be refundable!

This is because you can get some favorable redemptions if they're flexible; many are able to redeem about $1000 worth of miles for a first/business class international flight that has a cash price of $10K

Wow.  US deals are so much better than the UK ones.

At the moment we have £150 credit against £1000 spend on Celebrity.  Seems to be an annual thing as took advantage of this for part payments last year for our Nov-22 cruise and so will use it again for our Jan-25 one.    If things pan out, should be able to use this next year too 🙂

In Canada,  we don’t even get a toaster 😢🤣

I don’t believe I have even seen Amex offer a cruise deal in Canada

I got the 17500 points for the $500 offer. My upcoming cruise is fully paid for and there is not much I can do for other purchases, as we get wifi, drinks, gratuity, etc already paid for. So I suppose I could try the OBC Route.

Thats what I do all the time. I get emails when new offers are available and then I just add them all, after which some more turn up in a day or so. I got up to over 400 offers added to the card last month and for several weeks nothing new came in.

Got excited when I saw this post, but alas no offer on my Cobalt or Green Amex.

Are you sure? My Green card had this offer:

"Spend $500 or more, get $175 back "

This would be given as a statement credit...good until 3/31/2023

Not everyone gets these offers. They are targeted to specific card holders.

Yes, I saw that you had 'targeted' in the title....but with Nutsaboutgolf posting about having more than 100 offers and having to add offers to get to the Celebrity one, I thought I would ask...

However, I should have echoed the part about more than 100 offers...oops...

ETA: I was surprised that I had the offer...I don't use the card very much...but I have had the card since 1984...perhaps that's why I got the offer??

Question for those who have purchased OBC before. It looks like you can only purchase $225 max in one order online in the cruise planner. So can I just do four separate orders?

Also, is there a way to make sure this is refundable OBC?

Maybe this is something I should call and purchase over the phone?

Good question. I was hoping someone could answer.

Any OBC that you purchase is refundable, its the Stock Holders, FCD, Booking Bonus, TA Provided, etc. that is non-refundable.

Just checking that "refundable" means you can get cash back on the ship.

If they refund it back to your credit card at the end of the cruise the Amex benefit goes away.

I know there's a 5% charge for getting it in the Casino so wondered what would stop someone from getting cash at Guest Services and taking that cash to the casino.

True, I did not think about that as I've never had a positive balance on my ship account in over 20+ years of cruising, so its not something I would normally think about, but your right, the credit would go back on to a CC. To get around that, I would use one of my non-Amex cards as the card of record for paying the folio at the end of the cruise. Or I could just use that money as the DW Slot Budget. She adds money to her bank from the room charges.

Does anyone know if this particular offer REQUIRES you to click through the provided Celebrity link? I prepaid gratuities and will have to but some Casino Slot credits but I forgot to click through the link for the gratuity payment. Technically it say s you do, but wondering if in practice it is necessary.

It does not because once you go to cruise planner, the AMEX part disappears from the URL...The URL will simply be: https://www.celebritycruises.com/account/
