jiggs Posted January 23, 2023 #27 Share Posted January 23, 2023 the offers are great, but they are usually aligned to down weeks from a booking perspective and maybe more tenured ships...I know offers are all over, I see them too, but lets not set the expectation that $140 coin in will get you a spring break 7 dayer for free. if you have nothing holding you back from when you cruise and can drive to ports in FL, then by all means go for it. I'd be on 10 sailings a year if I didn't have to pay airfare to get there.

I agree no such this thing as a free lunch... typically. I have points for air and hotels but I know that doesn't mean free. Those points are worth a lot and I still would need to pay grats, taxes, port fees, travel meals... Still, you give me a cabin and hopefully drinks I'm in lol.

I'd agree with that, I have what I'd call numerous generous offers, insides to suites, but all are limited. It's not every cruise, but I do have a standing offer of like 30% of "any cruise," big deal. Offers aren't any time any cruise, they're specific to fill in slow times Especially Australia, they REALLY want me to go down there and play Edited January 23, 2023 by EngIceDave

kona_wahine Posted January 23, 2023 #33 Share Posted January 23, 2023 I get casino offers, my husband doesn’t. I play the slots, usually $50 a night. I’ve come out ahead a few times. A couple times pretty well. My husband doesn’t play slots, but will play roulette, but doesn’t give them his card so no record. Cruising Panorama for free next month.

Caps_Shield Posted January 23, 2023 #37 Share Posted January 23, 2023 I am completely trying this on my side by side this summer. Two different ships, $20 a day. I could handle a free cruise from that and if it doesn't work it was worth the try.

They have been restricted to certain cabin classes, and in some cases, I was sent upgrade offers after booking. And yes - I've got so many offers for Australia (including several free room offers) it's insane. If only the flights over weren't so pricey...
StephPS79 Posted January 25, 2023 #42 Share Posted January 25, 2023 (edited) I would have to disagree, offers aren't just for tenured ships, we have multiple offers to book Celebration, and a few for Jubilee. Pretty much available any month. Yes, they are select sailings and capacity controlled, but preferred time to cruise for us is off-season. I have zero complaints for a February 2024 free balcony on Celebration. Edited January 25, 2023 by StephPS79

Rare irun5k Posted January 27, 2023 #47 Share Posted January 27, 2023 What does "free" look like? e.g. the least possible definition I could imagine is, base cruise fare for a 3 nights on their oldest ship during the low of low season, inside cabin, one traveler. Perhaps sort of premium if you want to bring a guest and of course taxes, fees, tips not included. Of course it could only get better from there.... if you can bring a second person to occupy the stateroom and with fees and taxes and whatever else they want to add, it is still substantially less that what you'd pay with a normal booking, and it isn't necessarily on their oldest and worst, then it starts to become attractive pretty quickly. edrussell Posted January 28, 2023 #48 Share Posted January 28, 2023 Our first ever cruise was Jan of last year came from the MyVegas app. Neither my wife nor I have ever spent a cent on the games and have played for years. We of course paid taxes and port fees but that was it as far as the cruise goes. My wife achieved prime on that cruise (the threshold was much lower during the pandemic), from that cruise we've generated many more offers than we ever will use. We've taken 2 others on casino COMP since. We have 3 others booked. My wife provided her info to Carnival via their match program and she has generated offers and we snagged a Carnival sailing in Sept of this year. So that totals 3 cruises taken, 4 more booked and we've yet to ever pay the base fare. Only taxes and port fees. I am a meticulous record keeper and on our first 3 cruises we are down a total of less than 400 in the casino. We are gamblers in land based casinos and have a strong relationship with several properties I can say firsthand that the COMP value we get from land based casinos is nowhere near close to the value we've extracted from cruise lines thus far.

I have never gotten a crappy offer like that. I am paying taxes and gratuities only as a solo on upcoming 8 days cruises, one on Spirit and one on Mardi Gras. I have unused offers for suites and balconies to Australia, Europe, Alaska and the Caribbean but my schedule doesn't have that flexibility.

It is your relationship with MyVegas and land casinos generating your offers, not your onboard play. What is "prime"? That isn't Carnival.
