Do you get 2 points per night if you cruise solo?

Funny, I just did an 8 niter on Anthem on Casino offer and charged $5 for a solo balcony, plus T&F.

At my MDR table, there were 3 of 5 diners on comped Casino cruises.

I am afraid they were to aggressive in thier casino offers.  We have done 8 cruises in the last 12 months and have paid nothing. Now we lose about $100 a day each,  but sometimes we win.  In all cases the cruise would have costed more and no free gambling or drinks and we even got owners suite on oasis!!!!  Wonder is up next.  Since we both get offers we have considered doing 2 solo inside rooms just to make diamond.  A one week cruise will do it and just leave the other room empty.  I dont think we will though.

Anyone know if there is any difference between booking 2 passengers then having one "no show", and booking two passengers and later calling to remove 1 from the reservation?

Would the latter result in a "single" booking for 2x points?

They wont let you as it is restricted to 2 passengers.  You have to go the no show route and take the single points

Is this summary correct?

Two booked to a guarantee stateroom:

Cannot remove second passenger.

No double points.

Two booked to a stateroom (not a guarantee):

You are able remove second passenger.

Will get double points, only if second passenger is removed prior to sailing.

If second person is a no-show, no double points.

Forgot to mention -- "and still maintain the 2x points" -- it has been mentioned here that using that strategy results in 1x points only.  Can anyone confirm this?

I can confirm that when we had 2 people booked in a cabin, and one was unable to make it, the now solo cruiser only got one point per day.  YMMV

Idk this is true you get the extra solo pt if it's a double cabin and 1 pax removed.  Seems contrary to what is posted above.

Based on multiple feedbacks from folks actually in this situation recently, no.

You need to have it booked originally (or rebooked) with the solo passenger paying the solo supplement (in a cabin for 2).

My one and only no show was in June. Technically I got the 2 points, but it didn't really matter since Laura got zero and she's the driver on our overall point total

Go for an adjoining cabin.
