Pre/Post Included Hotel Stay Concierge and above

Not quite the answer you are looking for, but you can decline the pre-cruise hotel, get a credit, and ask for a post cruise hotel, then apply the credit towards the cost.  The cost will most likely be higher than the credit.

Interestingly, the one time we booked concierge and came into Copenhagen 2 days early and had already booked a hotel, we took the hotel night credit from Regent, and it actually paid for our two night reservation! Remember you get the credit for each person!

This is interesting. We have had to add an extra night due to Regent not being able to find us flights from Manchester. We have booked concierge.
Regent told our TA they would let him know Monday or Tuesday of this week which hotel it was. We booked last week, cruise is in August.

How soon does Regent normally allocate hotel rooms ? We do not want to be stuck without a choice should the hotel offered not be to our taste.

The hotel will have “special” rooms for Regent guests: the bottom of the barrel. And the breakfast will be in a “special” breakfast room for Regent guests. If you’re lucky, the fruit won’t be mouldy.

Totally disagree. We have had some excellent pre-cruise hotels arranged by Regent and some memorable pre/post cruise 3-day tours.

Recently we flew in to Bali to join Explorer. We were accommodated in the Kempinski hotel - fabulous room and a delicious leisurely breakfast before travelling to the ship. Others were accommodated in the equally luxurious Ritz-Carlton next door.

Maybe we've just been lucky, but we've almost never had a bad hotel. Only one, in Stockholm, years ago would we have considered less than great. Two of the most recent were the Epic in Miami and the Mandarin Oriental, also in Miami. Breakfast has always been more than I could possible eat, fresh and tasty.

I'd really like to know what hotel(s) weelee was so unhappy with.

I will say the same as @flossie009 and @Mudhen and disagree with @weelee.  Our Regent-organised rooms have always been in good quality hotels and in some cases, the rooms have been in the higher grades available.  For example, the Intercontinental in LA, in which we booked an extra night pre-cruise so we could meet up with friends.  On checking in, we asked if we could have the same room for both the Regent-night and our independently booked night, only to be told that the "superior" room we'd booked and paid for didn't match the Junior Suite that was our Regent allocation and that we'd need to pay a small surcharge to avoid moving stuff.  Less successful was the W in Rome on our most recent cruise, but our room was far from the "bottom of the barrel" and the hotel was of a good standard - just not to our taste.

Most of the hotels have been similar to what we would book on our on, except for the Conrad (now Brickell) in Miami.  That was awful and we told our TA so.

some of the buffets for breakfast and dinner were not as good as could be expected, but mostly due to fellow passengers who were gluttons or couldn’t make a choice and completely blocked the buffets for others.

The “included” hotels have been fine.  The breakfast not so much.  However,  we stayed at the Kempinski in Bali after our recent cruise and the breakfast was wonderful as mentioned abive.  Dim sum, sushi, Indonesian foods, American stuff and lots of choices!

If we are in a Marriott,  based on my status, I go check out the lounge food first and usually eat that - less people!

Over the course of a dozen or more cruises, the hotel accommodations and food was perfectly acceptable. Perhaps you would be happier with the pre-cruise hotel provided by one of the mainline cruise companies 😊.

Searching my reduced-capacity memory bank on this one------------

Only one klunker recalled as to pre or post-cruise hotel(s) over the past 20 years incident to  Radisson/Regent cruises.  That one dud was at Sydney awaiting boarding Voyager.  It would be a "stretch" to describe our hotel as 3+.  We were not the only ones advising Management of dissatisfaction--once boarded for a series of cruises winding up at Singapore.

Regent, obviously, listened.  While enroute, were informed the post-cruise hotel for two of our 3-day Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Singapore add-on had been changed.  It was Ritz Carlton at Kuala Lumpur.  Staff was out there, warm towels and refreshing drinks at the ready when we exited the bus. Only aspect missing was strewing rose petals at our feet. Placed in an "upgraded" Suite.  Experienced over-the-top included breakfasts. Reluctant to leave--but, boarded a short hop flight back to Singapore for another day and overnight preceding return to CONUS (Continental United States).  At Singapore it was Hotel Intercontinental.  Top quality in every respect, to include breakfast before heading for airport.

Others:

Two occasions at Hong Kong:  Hotel Intercontinental, yet-again.  One is at loss for words when describing the munificence of the (included) combination breakfast/brunch.  Unfortunately, it will probably be a long time before we can reprise a visit to Hong Kong.

Barcelona, Rome, London, Athens:  Similar, positive experiences.

As to CONUS:  Los Angeles.  Three stays at Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons preceding Navigator or Mariner sailings. True confession:  Not overwhelmed by breakfast offerings.  Adequate.  However, in the woof and warp of events, not-a-big-deal. Just passing time prior to transit to ship.

New York and Miami.  Lodgings and breakfast offerings have consistently been more than adequate at differing sites.

Next up:  This May at New York.  Back to Hotel Lotte prior to boarding Navigator.

Above is anecdotal, for sure.  But, it is (was) what it has been for us.

GOARMY!

While we're at it, Mandarin Oriental in Miami...OMG! The bathrobes....you could've just left me in one of those and I'd be happy for the rest of my life...(giggle!)

Monte Carlo Intercontiental (?) not sure of name....famous hotel on the hairpin turn of grand prix fame.

Truely the haunt of the rich and famous.....died and gone to heaven!

Next up, Coral Gables/Miami Biltmore....will report back!

For us, when we book our own room which is usually for city breaks, if it is clean with a comfortable bed and a hot shower we are happy as we are either in one or the other or out seeing the sites/sights 😂. So the hotels Regent have booked for us have always been delightful. It is, on the other hand going to be very interesting when we fly to Tokyo. Because of the distance Regent fly us in the day before (a forced overnight) whatever category of suite so possibly not at the 'luxury' end but we may be pleasantly surprised keep your 🤞🏻for us.

Had to look it up.... Fairmont Monte Carlo....amazing hotel with cliental to match!

Still a wow.  We stayed at the Hermitage (booked on our own) for our Voyager cruise years ago.  We had been on an extensive land tour.  Still have a great pic from our balcony (blown up on a canvas) looking out over the harbor at the Voyager.  What a day!
