concierge email prior to sailing

Recommended Posts

please correct me if I am mistaken but does the concierge email ahead of our cruise if we are in a suite? or is it hit or miss? I thought I read somewhere on this forum that they usually email 5-7 days before we cruise. I cannot find the thread from before to confirm what I read. we have never sailed in a suite before and I am looking forward to verifying the "perks" of a suite.

we sail on Adventure on 5/4/23 out of Ft. Lauderdale so we are at the 5 day countdown! YAY!

That is the norm. You'll get a list of perks in your cabin upon arrival.

What is the list of perks?  I normally sail on NCL and have one cruise on Princess and all have been in suites.  We may book a cruise on Independence of the Seas in 2024 and would like to find out the perks.  I do know there is a concierge service but there will be no butler and only breakfast for suite guests instead of b/l on the other lines.  Is there room service and will there be a charge?  I think I read that some ships have a concierge lounge where we could get free drinks?

Grand Suite and above have "suite perks", including access to the Concierge and to the Suite Lounge.  In the Suite Lounge, there are free drinks for the 3 hour "happy hour" each evening. During happy hours there are hors d'oeuvres in the Lounge.  There is breakfast in a specialty restaurant.  (Chops on Independence, I believe, but it's been a while since I've been on her).  Room service is free.  (please tip😉 ) If you have any tender ports, the concierge will get you priority tendering.  S/He will also escort you off the ship on disembarkation day.  And unlike the peasants, you will still get cabin service twice a day.

I have only 4 days to go until the cruise. we will leave town on tuesday (early). we are in a grand suite. I guess I will see if I get an email on monday. after monday, I will just check the letter in our room after we board. I suppose it is not a big deal, but every little step is closer to our trip and I get excited!

The only time we haven't heard from the concierge in advance was when we got a Royal up to a GS from a JS and we got the RoyalUp more than a week in advance. Turns out the concierge wasn't the best we've encountered so that may be the issue and not the RoyalUp.

It varies by ship class.  Oasis class has more perks than the older ships for example.  Mostly this involves the Coastal Kitchen and Suite Lounge Bar.
