Allure of the Seas June 4-11, 2023

Recommended Posts

Have a great time - hope you get to enjoy a little bit of Galveston.  May the slot gods smile upon you - it seems they like you a lot more than me.  But I just keep trying.  We are prime in casino so I just keep the liquid courage flowing.  It helps to ease the pain!

Good morning.

Today we finish packing.
And leave for airport once our house sitters arrive.

Busy day.

Well finish up everything.

Water the plants/garden.

And of course have to make one final run to Walmart or Travel agent.

You see we leant our suitcase scale to the daughter when they went to a conference and for the last 6 weeks when I babysat for our granddaughter the scale was not given to us. She forgot.

Yup

Walmart

Yup

First of month.
Yup

Painful

Also I have read that that “Duck” hunting season is quite overpopulated on this sailing. Every. And I mean every type, size, color, and theme imaginable. For us-no quackery.  Even though it has been shared that duck hunting could be profitable.
In fact some have money attached.

Besides, my life revolves around …………

And.

Time to get productive.

Sea ya.

Ha we had a bear last night!  Not two feet from my office window. First one this season and he was very impolite, tore up all the garbage in our container!!!!!!

A tradition of taking pictures of suitcases just  in case lost by airlines on a non stop flight. Air tags safely tucked in.

Pretty purple.

He knows... he was oh my gosh about 4 suitcases for the week. Me too! That's enough luggage to stay on a few weeks .. with some free laundry perhaps thrown in.

So what hotel are you staying in. ..tomorrow night?

We are staying at the Hampton near the airport and Sunday going back to airport to catch RCI shuttle.

Hoping all goes well with this mode of transportation.

And as for amount of luggage. Well. Not really. We will be gone 10 days.
Shoes , clothes, bathing suites , shower caddy, pharmaceuticals 😳

(prescription and OTC). Beach bag, travel documents. ……

Well, they might get lost by the airline, but it’s highly unlikely that someone will mistake them for their luggage!

So the ride to Cleveland on the turnpike was uneventful. Hot hot hot car thermometer said outside temp 95. We were a comfortable 65.

Better yet. We were thrilled to arrive at the luckiest time to get a parking spot right at the entrance. And these are not those modern narrow spaces, it is very accommodating.

Then we checked in, re confirmed our shuttle ride to the airport for 4am. ( our flight boards at 5:50am)

We always request a room on the first floor and our wish was granted. Got our land version of sea pass and carted the suitcases and back pack to room 135.
Opened the door and what to our surprise…………no bed.

So as dear spouse kindly went back to lobby the attendant asked what was wrong.
She immediately fixed the problem.
New room. And it even has a bed.

She also comped us 2 drinks in hotel restaurant.

Now we usually walk to Max & Ermas for drinks and dinner, but I don’t feel like melting so we will eat here.

It will be an early night. Alarm set for 2:45am. Shower, dry hair makeup. Organize and off to shuttle.

Can only hope that dinner has no surprises.

Sea you.

The plot thickens. We left a wake-up call for 3am ( I usually snooze once. Well ok. Twice).
So when we went looking for the phone we only found a cord.

So gooder spouse walks down to desk. Um no phone cannot call. And the girl laughs as she said she will notify maintenance.

So no wake-up call for now.

I will let you know if I need someone for my wakeup call.

Sea you

I'm in California, 3am is midnight here, and I'm almost always awake.  I can do your wakeup call if you need it.

Well the Ma Bell answered my call. Repair man just showed up and took out a box and only took him 12 min to plug the phone into the plug in wall.

But.
Yes but.
He must have left the phone plate in the box.
