Is HAL still offering the HIA for $50 per night?

A couple of months ago I was sent an offer to purchase the HIA package for our upcoming Oct. cruise for a price of $50 per night per person.  Since then I have not seen anything on it.

Has anyone seen this offer lately or have they actually been able to do it recently?

I checked and I can see it on my Sept sailing but not showing up as an option when I try to book it for a new cruise.  Am I doing something wrong?

Not sure Dave.  I’ve seen best price and HIA on every cruise I have looked at to book if that is what you are asking?

Not exactly.  I want to take the Best Price (in my case it says Private Fare) and add a $50 per day charge for the HIA package.  See below.  I can only see this once I book, not before or during a booking.  The reason for this is that the HIA package is much higher at time of booking (like $800 vs the $350).

It used to be offered on the spring caribbean cruises and then it went away.  But someone on cruise critic advised calling reservations and that worked.  No problem to add HIA for $50 per day.  I don't know why it was no longer listed for sale online when I accessed my booking.

On the cruises I chose not to purchase it I find it as a package to add on my manage my cruise page at the same price, $50 per day

This would be a far better deal ($350) than the $800 (for 7 days) difference HAL is showing me on the booking page.  I think the reason for this is that my first price is a private sale and involves restrictions (such as non-cancellable) while the second price I see (for the HIA) is a traditional fare.

The offer I mentioned is actually on that complimentary cruise I mentioned to you a while back.  I would book without then buy later.  You can even call up to a few days before cruising and get that same offer

I have had bookings where the web page says "not available for this sailing," or something to that affect. But are you sailing solo DaveOKC?  The normal cost of HIA for 7 days is $700 - double occupancy. If there are 2 people in your cabin, both have to get the pkg.

I thought the $700 would cover both of us??  That is how I came up with the $350 pp cost discussed above.  The $800 difference I mentioned for HIA is pp.

Last week they came out with a press release saying HIA was being expanded to all sailings.  (They must be making a killing 💰). So just call and have it added if you want it

There was a thread recently with this same glitch.  I truly believe it is a website error. The elves keep tinkering and it goes from bad to worse

Something isn't right, it seems the web site is wonky, you might have to call your TA or HAL.

The math doesn't work for us, so we just pay as we go.  I was just wondering about DaveOKC's post.

Rarely does it work for us either.  At 4 star we get half price meals, half price coffee and half price wine packages. I get my Perriers free in casino so I really see no benefit.  However I have occasionally fallen upon a sale while “managing my cruise” and have gotten HIA super low.  Always check😉

I sooo agree with this!  On one upcoming cruise the difference between the basic fare and the HIA package was $514 - for 11 days.  This came out to $46.72 per day AND it included Crew Appreciation.

Is part of that difference the fact that the $800 involves your selecting the cabin instead of getting a guarantee for the lesser amount?

OTOH it sounds like a pretty good deal to us, even though we are also 4 star Mariners. On the below 21-day cruise, we each get $300 off excursions, 3 specialty dinners (1 at each for a total of $89 or $44 if 4 star), premium internet service ($35 per day), crew appreciation ($17 pp/day (if you're in a suite which I'm assuming includes a VS), premium beverage package, and a refundable deposit.

When I add it all up for a 4-star Mariner, it equates per person to $300 + $44 + $735 + $357 = $1,436, and that's not including the free premium beverage package. The difference between the two below fares, Basic and HIA, is $1,430 plus the Cruise Only fare has a nonrefundable deposit. What am I missing?

The confusion with this is the advantage fare (which doesn't show online), priced between the nonrefundable guarantee cabin fare and the HIA fare. Adding HIA to the advantage fare usually works out to $50 pp pd.

On my B2B cruise last month - except for a Newbie and another couple, it seemed like HIA was in the majority - just my observation - not a fact.
