Meraviglia YC pros and cons each deck

for my bermuda cruise only decks 14 to 18 are available, none of the larger suites are available. but i noticed 16 is almost sold out.  i assume because of the lounge? but the only one left is next to the lounge so i assume thats noisy or something?

deck 18 is under the YC outside deck so im sure thats a big no no

15 forward facing is open but i see it's under the lounge so a bad idea probably?

ok something is a miss. its not just the one closest to the lounge on 16 is open. it's dark which means it's assigned. but when you see the list of available cabins it is the only ones available

There's nothing amiss.  You are on the booking page.  When you selected deck 16, it shows 16002 as your "selected" room.  It is dark to show you where your selection is.  If there were multiple rooms on that deck, one suggested for you would be dark, and the other open rooms would be gray.

It’s dark because it is the one they are assigning to you.  If there were others available and you clicked on one, it would be dark and the original would no longer be dark. EM

You beat me to it! 😁

so then that room on 16 truly is the only one left?  im further confused by deck 15. i even went to edge browser which i never use. to ensure it's not a browser error. so the white are booked and grey is taken? the key doesnt delineate that which is why i was confused.

but if the only one on 16 left is near the lounge i still question if it's so good why didnt anyone take it yet lol

White are not available,  colored are available and black is the one selected to book.

ETA:  My only concerns about 16002 are it is actually under the dining room directly above, luckily a seating area and not a waiter station, and the balcony position relative to the bridge extension. Balcony also has a slight cove forward.  Otherwise it is in a quiet location with good access to the lounge and other services.

oh i never thought of that inward balcony. i saw it on another vid of another balcony cabin so know how much that bends in. im ok with that if it's the same

are you sure it's under the DR? looks like under 18002. but even if seats are above it,  i wonder if they move them out and clean every nite

i found this post "I found the 16002/16004 location near the Top Sail lounge a benefit because the staff had no issues with us using the side door to come and go from the lounge."

so does that mean this is NOT the main way to the lounge and that most people wont use it? i thought it was the main way to the lounge with tons of traffic

after reading thru the thread i booked 16002. TA also said 04 was available but no website i saw said so, so i guess TAs do really have access to extra private inventory.

my TA said could change within the category with no issues and having a 'back door' to the lounge sounds like a plus. kinda like in my edge villa i have coming up there's a secret door to that lounge as well.

The main entry to the lounge is in the center,  I don't think passengers are supposed to use the port or starboard doors.

the YC inside cabins on Meraviglia with 2 locked doors and a very short hallway to only your cabin are *****. Here's a example. You order room service in a regular cabin and when the crew knocks on the door you open it and take the items. In the cabins with the private hallway the crew knocks on the outside locked door or they call and say they are there and when you open the door directly at your cabin without having your keycard and walk the 10 feet to the second locked door you are now locked out of your room.

Meraviglia 15005

i always check invoices and glad i did. he booked us on the other cruise we asked for pricing for. wrote back to get it corrected and he called and got it changed. no clue if fees etc on his end but not my problem. my email and VM was clear on the cabin and date. it also explains why he saw another open cabin than i did. was looking at the wrong one lol.

we got 500 obc from him but since booze and internet is included, unsure what ill spent it on besides a model ship. probly will just let it be refunded to my CC. i hope that do that and dont make you get cash the last night

Be forewarned.  If I understand it correctly, MSC does not refund OBC unlike other cruise lines.  Anything not spent on the cruise remains with MSC if what i have read here on CC is correct.  I foresee a lot of Casino and specialty dining in our future.

i wrote to TA and he said :

I spoke with MSC and yes the OBC would be Nonrefundable so if you prefer a rebate I can do that.

whew id be mad as heck if i lost 500. turns out msc gave me 100 as well so that will go toward tips

im kinda shocked you cannot use OBC in retail places:

The following exclusions apply: Tobacco, souvenir glasses, ice cream menu, retail items, minibar, room service, promotions and signature venues (Venchi 1878 establishments, Lavazza Coffee Shops, Jean Philippe Chocolate, Coffee, Crepes & Gelato, Starship Club, Hola! Tacos & Cantina), regardless of beverage price.

We used OBC at the stores, Hola and at Venchi.

I was in 16001 and loved the access from the lounge right to our cabin hallway. Next time on boad I will have to stumble a little further as we are in 16005. Can't beat exiting the lounge right into your cabin's hallway/

The port side is closer to the piano, and had no issue with noise from the lounge.
