It turned out to be a good day in Auckland. Cloudy with a few sunny breaks until mid afternoon. Then the rain came… But it was nice to be back in Auckland. Lovely photos and takes me back - we did a two week cruise from Sydney around NZ in 2019 and it was fantastic. Auckland was lovely and I recall the Bay of Islands was just perfect weather 😎

 

Random question that’s just occurred to me - if you do a world cruise how does your status increase? Does it only go up when you get off at the end or do they count it in sectors? 
 

I was thinking you could go from zero to diamond status in a few months and get 4 free drinks a day if they do it in sectors.

We are only doing LA to Brisbane so not sure about those doing the full cruise but for us we will be going from platinum to emerald during the cruise but our status will only change after the cruise.

On the UWC, tier status changes are recognized immediately.

Though ironically, even if you make Pinnacle....you are not allowed into the Concierge Lounge (unless you are one of the 41 Pinnies on full world cruise).   Also not allowed for breakfast in Chops even for full WC Pinnacles.  😉 

 

Exceptions are for GS cabins and above, which are very limited on Radiance class ships.

Thank you. No we are not rejoining the WC. We are staying in Australia until the end of April and then flying back home.
