BUT the fact that the Mushroom soup is no longer on the menu makes me sad. My favorite! Don’t be sad! The menu reverts back to the original after 10 days to 2 weeks. Re the mushroom soup (which I agree is wonderful) -- if you know you want it, and it's not on the menu, ask for it 24 hrs in advance from the Maitre D'. If they can make it for you, they likely will.
Rare Gilly Posted March 11 #405 Share Posted March 11 We did the jumping crocs tour years ago and agree, @crusin7 we could have made a better choice, too. Not only was our boat really full, it was all a bit of a circus show - when they had names for the crocs which were lured to jump with dangling pork chops over the side, it gave the game away, for these were hardly "wild animals" at all. Never mind, we live and learn, don't we?!
Rare kjbacon Posted March 11 #406 Share Posted March 11 Could not agree more that the mushroom soup is one of Regent’s best dishes BUT absolutely love it that there is a rotation on the specialty restaurant’s menus. That’s something that we’ve thought for years would be a great idea. @crusin7 keep those fabulous pictures and your helpful comments coming!!
Rare crusin7 Posted March 12 Author #407 Share Posted March 12 Welcome to Komodo Island! We had multiple downpours yesterday afternoon with gale force winds. I was afraid we wouldn’t be able to tender. These are the steps you need to climb when exiting the tender. The crew are there to help. We were very lucky it was overcast today. The heat and humidity are miserable. You walk around 1.5 miles each way. We saw about 6 dragons. I’m glad I did it but once is enough!
Rare crusin7 Posted March 12 Author #408 Share Posted March 12 Our excellent guide Agus. The guides never hit or prodded the dragons. I read this on another site. They seemed very respectful of the animals.

They were having a problem with a Cushioning device. So we actually waited about 45 minutes to dock. We were about 1 hour late for our tour. It was very Hot! There are a lot of flies/ mosquitoes on the boat. I would not recommend this tour. We were on the boat about 45 minutes. We had to pick 2 plastic bags out of the water. So we only saw 3 crocodiles. Not worth the heat, insects and long drive for me. We went on the Jumping Crocodile Boat excursion. Our Guide holding a Crocodile Tooth IMG_6241.mov 31.18 MB · 6 downloads Crisy, we were on the first excursion and really enjoyed our time on the river. Sorry you didn’t have a good experience. The heat definitely makes a difference. We had the same boat captain and stopped to retrieve one plastic bag. @pappy1022, the assistant held the stick out and up so the crocodiles weren’t overfeed and the crocs don’t get used to feeding from the boats. They know all the crocodiles by name and want to protect them.
Rare crusin7 Posted March 12 Author #410 Share Posted March 12 Many of the crew were able to get off and enjoy Komodo. Here are a few photos from our Butler Samita. Looks like they found Dinosaurs!

Rare crusin7 Posted March 14 Author #413 Share Posted March 14 The Menu First Course Second Third Dessert I wasn’t a big fan of the cuisine but it was stifling hot so that could be a factor.

Rare crusin7 Posted March 14 Author #416 Share Posted March 14 I was surprised John was leaving because our World Cruise brochure only listed him as CD. The replacements for the top officers were listed.
Rare kjbacon Posted March 14 #417 Share Posted March 14 Wow, that special event looks amazing!! Your pictures are wonderful. We are signed up for 2026 and I wonder if that’s the same as one of our special events? @crusin7 when you say it was hot, do you mean the weather was very warm or that the food was spicy? Still, it looks like you had a fabulous time.

We sat at an inside table closer to the stage. It was like a human Hot House.

Brownie54 Posted March 14 #423 Share Posted March 14 Andrew was on Navigator in the Fall of 2022 and on the last part of the World Cruise 2023, both as Assistant Cruise Director. He does a terrific cabaret act and is a great guy! We have really enjoyed sailing with him! Sue and Bob
