were they in a big storm?

I imagine that a  cruise without  power, propulsion,  A/C , water and internet seems awful!   Hope food has not spoiled.

Prayers for  a safe journey for all onboard.

There was no storm.

Has there been any talk of cancelling future sailings? We are supposed to be on board April 15 and I want to look for potential alternatives if necessary

I hope not.  I am supposed to be on the Southbound Alaska cruise mid-May.

I’m sure by mid May things will be fine, I’m talking the next couple of sailings.

It’s all caused by weather.

The loss of power and the broken water line were not caused by the weather. There is an active thread about this on another social media platform with many, specific details.

What is the current status of the ship? Is the power restored? Is water back to normal?

Every thing was back to normal last night. They were probably still cleaning up after the water line break.

Reminder to all onboard a ship with mechanical issues -put down toilet lid before you flush.  Good luck.

Probably good advice even without the mechanical issues!

We were just off her on Monday, 4 nighter to Nassau and Bimini, we were on the 3rd deck.  Great cruise, only two issues were the slow-to-drain shower/sink, and the safe wouldn't lock as the display asked for an "e-code".  I reported both issues, the safe FOUR times and neither were fixed despite telling us the safe issue was fixed multiple times.  We figured nothing would be addressed about the slow drainage and while the non-locking safe wasn't that big of a deal, we were surprised there wasn't much communication about it.  The odds are too long that they "fixed" the safe four times and only when we happen to use it, press any button and it flashes "e-code"

Anyone have any experience on how this sort of thing could play out for the Summit’s next voyage? We are supposed to be boarding her in Miami on Saturday and presently aren’t feeling very good about our trip going as planned.

No problems since yesterday. So hopefully your trip will be a good one. !

@hcat definitely check it out, too much information to repeat and it's not my story to tell, but I can direct you there.   Lots of first hand accounts, many direct quotes from the captain's various addresses.  Some of the flooding appears to have been significant depending upon your deck and cabin location on that deck, the toilets being closed down, etc - many eye witness accounts.

More first hand accounts from the people who are on board, who are current passengers - who have been personally effected, and are hearing first hand the announcements, etc.  There have been a few of those on this thread, definitely, it's just that there is more information, more accounts, more insights, on the other site - the name of which is not supposed to ever be mentioned here on this platform or comments containing such a reference are deleted.  That other site is simply easier to use, more user-friendly, very much so - which is why in general, in a case such as this, you'll find more info.

Glad you had a nice quick cruise experience.  I love the 4 night get-aways!  I have to say I would be very distressed not to have a working safe.  I like to play in the casino and I keep my player's cash locked up...few things get me in front of the guest relations counter but having a safe that won't lock puts me at the front of the line.

Facebook.  It's not forbidden to say it.  Not sure why people think otherwise.  CC just doesn't want you to steer people from here to roll calls on FB is all (don't join a roll call and tell people to join them on your FB roll call).  It's in the guidelines.

What is the name of the page/group with these accounts?

ok.   I get the gen picture. We  will cross Summit off our list..No guarantee that  fixes in one area will be enough..as other issues may crop up.   ( I do not use FB ...but get the gist of it all)

We sailed Infinity one yr  "way back"  ...all was  fine..The yr after, same ship, we  had hallway leaks, mildew in bthrm,  and recurring A/C problems including in our cabin..

It is concerning b/c Sihlouette, a newer S Class ship recently had a  messy bthrm issue. Some  E ships creak..where to go????

I've had to be very careful, as I have indeed seen posts deleted by using that name that shan't be named.  So many times I've wanted to be very specific about not only the always-more-active-than-here-on-CC roll calls, but also the info packed ship specific threads, like the one about Summit - not the roll call for this impacted cruise, but the ship specific thread.

I can see that you are at least docked at Key West. Hopefully things get corrected soon.

Great view!

Power coming back now. I will say the captain provided a ton of updates very quickly and water bottles were set up at guest relations right away. Lights and AC are back. Waiting for running water and computer systems to become back online.
