All Things Fascination

The #1 reason why I changed from early to late dining was because having early dining didn't give me enough time to have a sushi appetizer. When dinner is at 5:45, having sushi at 5 or just after interferred too much with my appetite. And we know we want to be in full pig-out mode for dinner, right? :p

With late dining, it's a great tide-me-over snack.

So on Miracle, I requested late dining. Turned out they just have a sushi cart (I imagine the Pride is the same), that is located outside the entrance to the sports bar (there's an entrance from the hallway as well as from the casino).

The lines were ridiculously long with only one person working. We sometimes got our order, went into the sports bar to watch some futbol, then went back for a 2nd round. It depended on the line.

It really isn't a good layout on the Spirit-class ships. They need a dedictated space and more than one person.

Yeah RCCL's system is better, but the quality of the sushi isn't there:( But then again, haven't run into much 'buffet' sushi that's good;)

We had good sushi at the Jade on FOS. Now the ship was new and we got there each night as they were putting it out. Makes a huge difference.

Has there been any more news about Fascination itinerary changes due to the construction in Freeport?

I know that they did a lot of itinerary changes a few weeks back. Both of the ones I have booked on the Fascination had a change. They deleted Freeport and added Key West to my 5 day. For my 4 day they changed the day we go to Nassau.

Hi...I'll be on the Feb. 2 sailing for my very 1st cruise. When I go to carnivals website and try and change my dinner seating from the 5:45 to the 8:00 seating it won't let me. Does that mean that the late seating is more popular and it must be full? Also, I checked to prepay my tips. Will Carnival just go ahead and charge my card now or how does that work? Also, does anyone have an idea of what the menus are on a 5 day cruise? I have alot of dumb questions..lol. Thanks in Advance.

Did you book online? If you used a TA it might not allow you to make changes online. Yes you will see the charge on your credit card.

Jsme- Did you find the itinerary changes online or directly from Carnival?

Cruising with JSME in March 09. Our itinerary changed. She told me on our roll call thread, checked Carnival website and it had changed also. And then about 2 weeks later, got an e-mail from the website I bought thru and they finally told me. Hope this helps.--Dan

Just got back from the Fascination.

Just wanted to say that the ship was spotless (considerably cleaner than the Imagination and Sensation,) very fun, and the Cruise Director Trevor is the greatest I have encountered. The guy is naturally hilarious and it seems like I ran into him everywhere I walked.

Have fun everyone.

Yes I went on line for the changes. They add the Key West and dropped the Freeport but switch dates on the Freeport of the other Fascination I have booked.

Oops, never mind. Off to read your review! THANKS!!!

Yeah, I am guessing that you saw it in the Carnival forum. :)

Here is a review I just wrote about the trip. It's sort of long and has some pictures throughout. showthread.php?t=845199

I am in the process of uploading the rest of the pictures. I will post a link as soon as I am done!

Thanks

Shane

Ok, we are cruising on Nov 1st and I am having an awful time finding a hotel. Everthing seems to be booked. Finally one hotel informed me there is a GA/FL game that weekend and some hotels are requiring a min. stay. Anyone have any ideas on hotels on I95 close but not in Jax, maybe on the GA/FL line???? I'm about to stress here....

Not sure if I over looked it but did they add the interactive t.v.? Where you able to check your S&S account and book shore excursions from your T.V. ?

How about Savannah? Isn't it about an hour from JAX? I cannot remember, sorry.

Did you call some of the hotels? Did you try Holiday Inn Express? http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/1/en/hotel/jaxsn?rpb=hotel&crUrl=/h/d/ex/1/en/availsearch&ias=y

As of August, Fascination has the flat screen TV's, but they are not interactive.:(

We are on her Jan 2009 - I was told when we booked the upgrade would be completed by the time we sailed - why doesnt anyone give a straight answer?!!!

I honestly think it's because they don't know the real answer:eek:
