Who is the Captain on the Infinity? We will be embarking in April. Wondering if this is the same one that crashed into the dock in Ketchikan last summer?

 

Captain Berdos was on the Infinity when we crashed into the dock (see the photograph from my cabin balcony). I have no idea if he is still working with Celebrity. From what I understand, the pilot was in charge when we approached the dock, but strong winds blew us against the dock. I would think that Captain Berdos was not to blame.

John Grantham is on Equinox at the moment. I will be boarding Equinox next week. I have heard good things about him

 

Really hope he's still onboard on the 20th. He's very personable and quite visible around the ship and likes to chat. We really enjoyed his talk in the theater about his Hollywood stunt man days.

Thanks so much for this!!! Going in 3 weeks and so excited! I have heard high praise for Capt. Kafetzis before! But I am a big proponent of how the Cruise Director can really add to a trip. How is Sara? Does she do Liar's Club and Love and Marriage? Would love to hear input!

Didn't go to the late night game shows so I can't comment. Sara is absolutely wonderful! I had heard some great things about her on another Social media Board and she exceeded my high expectations. She really tries to get to know each guest. She doesn't sing, dance or tell jokes. Just presents the performers and allows them to do their thing.

I agree with your assessment of Sara. She is very friendly, and high energy. On the 1/29 sailing she did not host Love and Marriage, but they did do Liars Club with Capt Dimitrios. However, I think it depends on the Captain. There was no Liars Club on the 1/22 sailing with Capt Peppas, who does not seem to interact with the guests as much. Capt Dimitrios will still be on board when you cruise and he is hilarious.

I keep hearing wonderful things about Captain Tasos on the Solstice and I was looking forward to having him as captain on our March 25 sailing from Sydney.

I just read something in another post about him being on vacation.

Is anyone able to tell me if he will be back for our sailing?

Yes she left this morning from Aruba. She had wanted to go home but there had been some bureaucratic reason that kept the actual leaving day uncertain nearly up to the last minute.
