Tomct Posted June 10, 2009 #176 Share Posted June 10, 2009 That tiered area called the Amphitheater on the deck plans step up to the aft Raffles bar area as well. To enjoy the aft lounges drinks aren't far away. I have seen adults in the hot tubs, but the pool is a bit small for older teenagers. I am sure older teenagers would prefer the lido deck pool instead. But I have seen families, with their older teenagers watching their younger children, not teenagers, in this pool area. The day we left Bermuda was our best weather day while at sea, and it was jammed with 12 - 15 year olds. There is no actual "pool area", only a small wading area on the starboard side, and the play area in front of the water slide landing area, which has a sprinkling shower and an alligator which sprays water. The hot tub is port side, and on that particular day was used only by those same young teens the entire time we were there sunning, eating, and watching our granddaughter. She had no interest in competing with the kids for space in the pool area, slide or hot tub. There were very few kids under 10. Not sure what you would call these kids, older or younger, but the big attraction here was the water slide, a hot tub that was not occupied by adults, and the abundance of teens of the opposite sex. My guess this does not happen as much during peak seasons for kids, and if it does, there is reason to complain about it. We chose not to, since it was only a couple of hours, and did not want to ruin the good time those teens were having.
Rare Radio Posted June 10, 2009 Author #177 Share Posted June 10, 2009 Thanks again Radio. I don't know exactly how to verbalize this, but you have such a 'gift' with your camera. Your photos really speak to me, so I was so happy to see that you are doing the beautiful Spirit now! Wow ! Thanks Maryfrei. . . . I am just an amateur, but I love Cruising, and I love to do "LIVE" posts. When I first started cruising, I was searching for photos and day by day reports. . .but there was none. Now I enjoy my cruise, and post a couple of times per day. I love doing both of them. My next "LIVE" report is coming soon. . . . Tomct Posted June 10, 2009 #178 Share Posted June 10, 2009 Do ALL rooms have a coffee maker? Do you need to bring your own coffee? Our Balcony cabin on the Spirit had a coffee maker, and they provide bags of regular and decaf coffee.
Don Haynes Posted June 10, 2009 #179 Share Posted June 10, 2009 Do ALL rooms have a coffee maker? Do you need to bring your own coffee? All of the cabins have 4 cup coffee makers. While they have coffee in prepackaged pads available, you could bring your favorite brand of coffee and use 4 cup filters sold everywhere coffee filters are sold.... Leafpeeper Posted June 10, 2009 #184 Share Posted June 10, 2009 These photos make me want to go to Bermuda again as soon as possible. It is nice to see all my Jewel of the Seas friends posting. I wish we were going on the Jewel repo again but we are heading to the northwest to visit my sister in Seattle before taking the NCL Star repo cruise to LA to see our grandsons. Radio--glad to see your photos of the Asian restaurant on Spirit. We love the tempura and the steak terriyaki at the NCL Asian restaurants (different names on different ships). The sushi bar and Teppanyaki are adjacent to the Asian restaurant. On our January Gem cruise we were able to dine before 7pm for only $5pp one night. What a bargain for specialty dining.
