You know all the stuff you want to bring on your cruise.

Toss half of it to the side and leave it at home.

You won't miss it and you will be lots happier carrying half as much.

Allow yourself to have a good time. You're on vacation. Ignore those with unhappy dispositions who would send you off on your journey with trepidation, and just have a wonderful time. :)

dont do it,its vacation crack.first just a little and before you know it your working holidays and weekends to make more money to go on more cruises.but seriously take half as much cloths and twice the money you think you will need.

Certainly agree - Pack half of what you think you'd need.

Don't be too shy to ask for seconds of something you really like or to order something else if you don't like what you ordered.

This is exactly what I was going to post. Most complaints and disappointments that I have read about are the result of misinformed or uneducated expectations.

Buy cruise insurance - you can often get a better deal shopping on your own rather than purchasing what the cruise lines sell.

My favorite - take half as many clothes and twice as much money as you think you need.:rolleyes:

1. Bring an extension cord-not enough outlets in the cabin

2. Bring duct tape

3. Bring a pound of your favorite coffee. Use the coffee maker in your cabin. If you don't have one, ask your steward for one. Coffee from the buffet may not be to your liking and coffee from the coffee bar may get too expensive.

4. Attend your cc meet and greet. Get the business card from your hotel director.

5. If you have a problem with your cabin, complain directly to the hotel director. Bypass the front desk. Nothing gets done with them.

6. Bring a night lite and flash lite.

7. Being plenty of dollar bills. Use them to tip the dock's porters who bring your bags to the ship and your cabin steward.

8. Make friends with your cabin steward.

9. Bring a carefree, non judgemental attitude. There will be fellow cruisers who may do things that may upset you. Don't let that ruin your cruise.

10. Question your fellow cc members at the meet and greet about what shore excursions to take.

11. Bring an insulated coffee mug. You may want to take coffee from the buffet.

12. Bring several empty water bottles to bring water on your excursions.

Fly 1 or 2 days in advance to your cruise.

1. Research the ports to maximize your experience on them.

2. Fly in one or two days before.

3. Reaserch your cabin based on your preferences (i.e. can you sleep in the room above the night club and beneath the scraping of chairs on decks?)

4. Take a highlighter for the dailies.

5. Enjoy yourself! If something doesn't exactly go your way brush it off.

enjoy the cruise! Live in th moment. Forget emails.texts and facebook. Plenty of time for that twehen you gew back. Research the ports, read the reviews on CC but be prepared to roll with the punches an let yourself savor the cruise.

The best advice I ever got here on CC was as don says". Take half as much stuff and twice as much money!

Best advice I ever got was by the CD on a European itinerary:

1.) Lower your expectations.

2.) Be travelers, not tourists.

Be the most informed person on the ship. We've actually met people who did not read, and did not know

they could get off in ports,

there was a theatre,

there was more than the buffet to eat in,

not to mention all the activities going on.

Read all you can lay hands on, then decide what to do from an informed place!

Take each review with a grain of salt. Go with an open mind and not form any opinions before you get to the ship.
