(1st timer, next week)

I know we can go to Barista's and get coffee there but can we order in any of the lounges or bars if we fancy a relaxed read and a coffee? From the photographs, it doesn't look as if there are many seats in Barista's.

The bars usually will have a pot. I know there is a self serve pot in the Casino Bar, and the Terrace. However, it's not a specialty coffee, just a pot of their regular coffee. Horizons has a breakfast service, and coffee, but usually have to order coffee during the day, until tea time. DH drinks coffee all day, so he scoped out all the places.

It's literally right next to the library, so coffee and a read in a comfy environment is no problem.

Which ship? On the R ships it's about 5 decks away from the Library.

Just ask a crew member they will get one for you

There are 2 small areas either side of Barristas with table & chairs

You can use the self serve machine in Terrace or Horizons or ask at the bar some will have the regular Bunn machines with a pot of coffee

depends where you are & what type of coffee drink you want

Actually, the Terrace & Horizons have a self service espresso machine (not a pot of coffee). Not quite as good as Baristas but not bad.

Where is the self serve in the Casino bar ?

I must have missed that one

On the Riviera this winter, it was on the corner of the bar...one of those pump pots, with about a dozen cups next to it. It was there on sea days only, when the casino was open.

Thanks

Something new since we have been on then

This thread has made me realize something ...

When at home I make a pot of coffee in the morning and drink it up. (When in college I drank coffee all day in vast amounts, but that was a long time ago.)

But when I'm on the ship I'll have it at breakfast and pretty much not any more during the day. Maybe a cappuccino after dinner, but that's it.

So needing my coffee jolt during the day isn't a consideration when on board ...

I do have sympathy for those who want their coffee frequently during the day! But it really shouldn't be a problem on board ... that's what room service is for, if not the all-day access at various places on the ship.

I do think it's easier on Marina or Riviera than it is on the smaller ships ...

Baristas opens at 6:00AM I believe and is located at the entrance of the GDR--especially convenient if you have breakfast in the GDR. WIKS

All the good places on the O ships have been mentioned but our next trip is on Nautica. Will some coffee hound (especially someone who looks for coffee really early) tell me the good spots on the R ships?

Room service 24/7

Terrace cafe has self serve machine 24/7

Horizons have continental type offerings & coffee for around 6-7am to 11 am

If you have a Butler ask him to bring you a pot

Does anyone know if they can't do soy product? I really enjoy a latte but it has to be dairy free for me!

I am not certain that they do but I believe that I have heard someone ask for it in the past thus I assume they have it.

Hopefully someone will know for sure.

I see that, according to the website, Barista's is open until "early evening" so presumably that doesnt work for my after dinner espresso. Any suggestions for a good place to go?

TIA

IMHO, the best place for really early coffee is in my bed! Fill out the room service card at night, with a time, of course, and it will be delivered to your room! :D

Why not order it wherever you are having dinner (with or after your dessert) - they will gladly oblige.

If you ask at dinner they will get you one if you do not want to have it in the dining venue

You could use the self serve machine option
