Regent disembarkation process

Thank you. Does this mean bringing hand luggage to breakfast?

on how early you eat breakfast. There will be a stated time, 8-8:30 AM typically, when they ask you to be out of your cabin. So, go have breakfast and then return to your cabin to pick-up carry-ons or take them with you to breakfast.

Full breakfast offerings and no sense they are trying to rush you off the ship though most will be off prior to 9 AM.

Which is what we do - breakfast about 0730 and then back to the suite, collect bags and go to wait to have our colour called in one of the lounges. On Navigator usually Gallileos for a couple of reasons: 1) plenty of seats and 2) on the top deck so easy to get the lift down when we are called. Generally we are off the ship and have our bags by 0900...

OctoberKat - Remember, that the only bags that need to be outside your door the night before will be the larger/awkward bags that you want Regent (and crew) to take off the ship for you to the disembarkation terminal. If you want to hold on to a small/medium rollaboard suitcase or two (like everyone insists on taking onto a plane with them and storing in the overhead), and as long as you're willing/and able to pull it behind you and roll it off the ship with you in the morning, you can leave that in your stateroom until you've finished breakfast. When you return to the stateroom after breakfast, just grab those small suitcases and taken them with you when you finally disembark the ship (around 0900).

Taking suitcases to breakfast with you - or even large handbags (and trying to bring them into the dining room/s with you) would be pretty cumbersome for everyone and would create extra/unecessary work for you, as well. As ChatKat mentioned, the Regent ships are small, and I have never encountered any kind of hurried/mad rush (at least on the part of MOST passengers) to disembark the ship on the final morning. It all goes pretty smoothly and in a fairly organized manner. Just make sure you don't have any significant "mobility issues" which would prevent you from negotiating the gangway while pulling a small carry-on bag behind you. If you would have those "issues", it would be best to let Regent take all the bags off the ship for you.

Best Regards.

--Bags out in hall by 11pm night before

--Several breakfast options [Compass Rose & La Veranda, room service pus lighter fare at pool and in the Navigator Lounge. We chose Compass Rose where most folks had their carry ons with them...not crowded and no rush to depart before colors were called.

--Asked to vacate your suites by 8am

--Printed statement that Immigration required all guests to be off the ship by 9am

--Colored tags are called in clusters

--We utilized the bus transfer to the airport..very orderly and well organized

You can get room service b'fast on the final morning?

That is interesting, Cunard don't offer that facility. We are on Mariner in April & I like the sound of room service breakfast on the last am, that makes a lot of sense to me if it is available.

Room service on disembarkation day sounds just the ticket. We'll likely try out all the breakfast venues the other nine mornings. Our suite comes with a coffee machine and I assume the butler can arrange cream in the fridge. Got to have that caffeine jolt first thing to get kick-started to dress for breakfast.

Thanks to all for the info here.

We are on the Navigator for the February 16 - 26 Caribbean sailing. The itinerary indicates that we arrive back in Miami at 7am on the 26th. Is it likely that we will be able to disembark earlier than "normal" to catch an earlier flight out of Miami? What is the earliest disembarkation time that we could obtain?

There is no way to provide a specific time due to many issues.

The 7 AM time is the scheduled time for the ship to arrive at the dock. This starts the actual arrival process which includes the docking, clearance by the local authorities, luggage removal from the ship to the port building and then the start of disembarkation by the passengers.

This all can be delayed by late arrival by the ship, delay in clearance by the local authorities and other issues. In addition for early disembarkation, you would need to carry or pull all of your luggage without any help.

This question is usually asked by stating a flight time and can we make that flight. Most replies recommend not taking a flight before 11 to 12 as there are also possible issues with traffic, transportation, etc. Will let other suggest times but, always better to avoid worry and the possibility of missing your flight to save a few hours when there are so many issues that might cause you to miss your "early" flight.

Thanks for weighing in. Our flight leaves MIA at 9:30am and we decided to "roll the dice" rather than booking the next direct flight that leaves at 8:30pm. Hopefully we'll get lucky but if not, we won't sweat it.

Think you rolled snake eyes as believe it is slim to impossible to make that flight and Slim just left the building. Doubt the first passengers will be let off before 8 AM in a perfect world and with you arriving on a weekday in the middle of rush hour would expect you not to be at MIA before 8:45 at the earliest and then checkin, security, and doubt you will get to the gate by the 20 minutes before the flight you are required to be there.

Good luck and hope you are able to get on your 8:30 flight without extra payment.

We sailed on the Navigator on a B2B in November, 2013. On both legs, actual disembarkation of passengers did not start until after 9AM. All luggage had to be off the ship and sorted before any passengers were allowed off, including those carrying their own luggage.

Dave is correct. No way will you make that flight. I strongly doubt the first passengers will be let off before 7:30, at the earliest, probably more like 8. The entire ship has to clear customs in Miami. That can take a while.

  • 1 year later...

Sorry to dredge up an old discussion, but we will be disembarking the Regent Explorer in Miami on Dec. 2, and need to let our local ride know when to be there. If we plan for a 10 a.m. pickup, will that be enough time for the ship to clear customs, get us off the ship, allow us to get our bags, etc?

thanks,
