The perfect cruise..... Opinions

For me it would be...

Calm seas

Comfortable bed in clean cabin with no noisy/smokey neighbours.

Nice view from decent size balcony

Excellent food and not struggling to find a table/have anytime slot for dinner.

Excellent friendly service from staff

Not for any of our party to fall ill during holiday.

For all at home to stay safe

To have beautiful sunny weather to escape the nasty English weather.

To ALWAYS find sunbeds together near pool without chair hoggers stealing them at 6am!!!! (massive and vital part of my trip)

To not have loud horrid music or announcements or games around pool. To me perfection is peace to be able to read/nap and swim without being irritated by other people's idea of 'fun'.

To have a decent but low key entertainment on offer day and evening.

To have roulette tables not too busy and to have a nice win ;)

To visit interesting ports.

To not feel the ship is too small for amount of people on board. I really do like my own space and when everything is crammed all the time it does spoil things.

The chance to meet and chat to fellow cruisers.

To sit and watch the sunset on my balcony while eating dinner from room service and sipping wine. (bliss)

To never hear the words from the crew 'iceburg straight ahead!' ;)

Yours now..... X

The perfect cruise would be one that I look forward to going on in advance and one that has ports I haven't seen. It would also be for a special occasion and something would be a big surprise! I would fall in love with some of the places and promise to return. Also, my photos would have some amazing people, along with gorgeous sunsets. It would be with my DH for sure! Celebrity might even provide an upgrade at the last minute! Okay, I just work up from my dream...

I get on.

Have a good time.

Don't get sick

Get off

The boat didn't sink.

Get home safely and find there is no bad news.

Didn't gain any weight.

Some of mine are the same as yours, yellowfurbaby.

I'll say:

Calm seas.

Sunshine with not much humidity.

Everybody healthy, on ship and at home.

Enrichment speakers who make me smile and teach me things.

Music that makes me smile, with a little to dance to and some to sing along with.

Every day I say to Mr. B., they really do things as if I was the one who chose the food/itinerary/crew.

And I never step foot in an elevator.

I hope you get all you wish for especially as we are on the same cruise as you!!!

Sounds just about perfect.

Just 99 days left to suffer ;)

Cheers

As Sue Denning would say: "It's not about the ships, but the friendships"

Nothing beats a cruise experience with friends.

Sharing a meal, a drink or an activity with the people you like makes for a wonderful cruise.

THIS!

Nothing will ever be perfect -

Just being away from home and work is perfect in itself!

An Alaskan cruise with a helicopter flight off the ship's helipad every day to the mountains to ski off piste in wonderful fresh powder snow.

The evenings back on board would be mostly formal with ample opportunities to ballroom/Latin dance the night away.

Lots of sunshine and warm not hot temperatures.

Following breeze so you don't feel like you are going to get blow away walking around the top deck of the ship.

A table and chairs on your balcony large enough to be able to comfortably eat a meal.

Fellow passengers who truely appreciate how lucky they are to be able to take a crusie.

Unlimited onboard credit.:D

Since we have to fly in for a "perfect" cruise , we need to have good flights to make it a perfect vacation.

Serious flight issues can put a damper on a cruise. I guess therefore a good flight is one where nothing bad happens.;)

Let me also include all the other stuff before and after the cruise itself.

Since I am being a downer I will add that a perfect cruise must be a good value.

I have been on 2 near perfect cruises both of which were about $100 PP a day.

This does not make them perfect but paying over $200 PP would reduce their perfectness for me.

These were a Mediterranean and a S Caribbean cruise. I guess a perfect cruise has to have perfect ports.

Sorry for the above comments.:o

It was fun to read that other thread from ten years ago!

While we're wishing for perfection, even though we know it's not really achievable but is fun to dream about, I'd like to add an easy disembarkation. We've had two horrendous ones and they do tend to throw a wet blanket over an otherwise wonderful vacation.

Gotta keep remembering ... this too shall pass!
