Just a guess, but they are probably adding the movie screen like they did to Infinity, probably changing Bistro on 5 to Sushi on 5. Maybe changing Ocean Liners to Murano? They already have a Tuscan Grille. Check on cruisedeckplans.com they sometimes have more info.

Is this a short drydock that would only have time for drydock type maintenance, or is it a longer one that would allow modifications to the ship?

I found the following info on cruisemapper.com. They do not mention the source of the information, and I'm not that familiar with the site. (http://www.cruisemapper.com/deckplans/Celebrity-Constellation-740)

The ship’s 2017 refurbishment will result in the following deckplan changes:

On Sports deck 12 a new relaxation and entertainment area will be added (aft location) named “Rooftop Terrace” (taking some space from the sundeck area at the stern).

On Plaza deck 3, the “Ocean Liners” restaurant will be replaced by Tuscan Grille (steakhouse restaurant at surcharge). Also on Plaza deck 3 a new office for “Future Cruise Sales” will be built (separate from the Captain’s Club) and a new portrait studio will be added. The Cinema will be redesigned to function also as Conference Center.

On deck 5 a new retail store was added.

On deck 11 (midship) will be added the Qsine restaurant.

Major renovations will be done to all Suite accommodations (in categories Royal Suite and Penthouse Suite), including new furniture and amenities upgrades. Among the changes will be upgraded bathrooms (marble surfaces, comfortable seats, new lighting system), new carpeting, new drapes, new bed linens.

Renovations will be done to the Casino (on Promenaded deck 4) and to the adults-only complex “Solarium” (on Lido deck 10). Both areas will receive new furniture and flooring. Also on Lido deck the pool area and the Spa Cafe will be renovated. The Casino’s theme decoration will be removed.

Very interesting. On my cruise in November 2017 I can buy dinner at Cruise Liners. I'll cancel my package if this is correct, I don't want multiple nights in Qsine

Hi all just joined. Also just returned from a trip on the Constellation. Yes it certainly needs a refit. Was very disappointed with our trip. Waiting for customer services to look into my issues so will update later. But would not recommend this ship.

I was on her 5 months ago. Nothing gets that bad in 5 months. Loved her.

A very warm welcome to Cruise Critic and congratulations on your first post. :)

Many of us would be very interested hearing about the aspects of the cruise you found problematic. We were on the Connie, as we affectionately call her, in June. We found the quality of the food (specifically beef) in Blu and the buffet was substandard for Celebrity. Other than that, everything else met expectations.

Thanks again for posting.

Yes, we were on her in August and had a great time. Ocean Liners was excellent - shame if they put Qsine onboard and replace it ;). It's nice to have different things on different ships in the same class e.g. the LCG on Silhouette & Reflection, but not on the other S class ships ;).

Which cruise were you on? We did the 21st October cruise and the 14th nov. both were superb. We did hear some negative comments from passengers and crew about the cruise inbetween those.

The Summit was recently in dry dock. They added a big movie screen. However, it is very sunny and at night, they closed it down because some Aqua class cabins was disturbed by the noise. They put in more comfortable chaises around the pool and some of the carpeting in the public areas were replaced. The Normandy steak house was replaced by the Tuscan Grill- IMO we preferred the Normandy. The only cabins that were refurbished were the 2 penthouses and the Royal suites. All others still sorely in need of updating.

Hope that more is done to other cabins on the sister ships.

Hi Future Cruise Friends.

We just signed on for Oct 19, sailing on the Constellation.

We love Celebrity and have sailed on the Equinox on a similar itinerary a few years back that included Egypt. That was exciting. Looking forward to Malta.

We have contacted http://www.GuidedToursIsrael.com and arranged for the 3 days of touring with Leo. Friends of ours recommended this tour company highly.

We would love the company. We are not staying over in Israel, but will sail on to Haifa for the third day as far as I know.

Would love to hear from you, or if you want to get in touch with Leo, please do so. We would love a small group of maximum 16 persons.

This tour would be mainly Jewish Content.

Keep in touch,

Bob and Gail in Ontario, Canada.

I am interested in what needed a refit and what your issues were, as I am booked on her in May.

I did two cruises on this ship this year. The most recent 2 months ago. Both great trips. Can not see it falling apart that quickly.

Just my opinion.

We were on Connie in July and had a great time, hope she is still as good as I have booked 3 cruises on her for2017

We sail on Connie on the 26th January. Only one negative report :confused:so i wii take more notice of all the positive ones. Most people say it is great :)

If you could find out once you are onboard what is planned during the docking it would be appreciated. We join her immediately after the docking in Barcelona

Currently on Constellation. The ship is in fine shape. Of course it needs a little refresh (especially our dated-looking Sky Suite!), but everything is in working order, the ship is clean, well maintained and we are very happy with it. Now if you're comparing it to Solstice Class, this ship is a bit of a letdown, but it's certainly in line with what I'm used to from the M Class ships.

Does anybody know if the May 2017 dry dock is confirmed? We are sailing Connie on June 5th. It would be great if they added the World Class Bar but I have only seen this on S-class to date. Happy to have Qsine added if that is true.
