A PEV suite disembarking perk coming soon

Look for Suite guests & Pinnacles (does not include junior suites) to receive special luggage tags for disembarking at Port Everglades off RCI ships. A special front of the line privilege to get up TO CBP. Basically once off the ship, you usually have another long line forming for Customs until you reach the multi lines that lead to the different CBP officers lanes . Once there you go through Customs as usual and declare your purchases, etc. This isn't a trusted traveler perk so no walking through Customs, its just a RCI VIP line.

I do not have a cruise booked on RCI out of PEV this year, so the next suite guests disembarking, please report back. Did you get a notification in your cabin, or the concierge. Did you see signs how they are directing you. I'm not sure how this is going to work, so I like to hear first hand from someone. I've heard this may start as soon as next week.

I think they have this at the new terminal at port canaveral. This last week on the freedom the suite and pinnacle guests received bright red tags for their luggage, they also had a special line for them in customs if they came off later.

 

It appeared most of the luggage was gone from the area when we departed, but I did see a couple go to the special line for customs.

This sounds great!!!! I wonder if this is something that will eventually be done at all disembarkation ports.

Alas our Junior Suites are not worthy of expedited departure into a shorter customs line. Guess we will just have to continue huddling with the masses of humanity on departure morning.

We had a special luggage tag on the Serenade repo from New Orleans to Boston in April. The tags were delivered by the concierge, they were red and white striped, and our luggage was right at the door to the outside, so you didn't even need a porter. Didn't have the same on Jewel in May, so maybe they are rolling it out slowly.

We were given the special red/white luggage tags on the Allure in March but we did self-carry early disembarkation.

Will be disembarking Oasis this Saturday, will advise if new system is in place.

We just returned from Liberty and we did receive the special Red Luggage Tags. We disembarked the ship at 9:30. The luggage was located at the far end of the terminal (section 7) and after retrieving our luggage we were directed to a special Customs & Immigration Suite Line.

They did it on the Navigator in May. Ricardo gathered the flock and escorted us down to the luggage and into the Customs line. It was great.

If the luggage tags are the same as if you are in a suite on Celebrity, they make it easier to find your luggage and you can go off the ship as early as you want. The suite luggage was separate from the rest. Getting your luggage is separate from being taken into a special customs line.

Some concierges take you off the ship in a special elevator so you do not have to wait in a line to get off.

This is what Carlos did for his Gold Card Guests on Liberty. We went down a service elevator to Deck 4 and that brought us to a door that was right next to the podium where you dinged out your SeaPass Card.

Only problem was that the Red Tagged Luggage was in the furthest part of the terminal as you entered (section 7) and then you had to walk back to get into the special Suite Line for C&I.

On the Oasis class for many years if you were collecting your own luggage and were in a suite, they always placed it in section #1. Even if you didn't have to disembak until later. It made it easier to find you luggage.

Once we started to fly out of Detroit VS Toronto we were able to use luggage valet. If this new sysytem comes into effect we will use luggage valet and then stroll into the suite line VS joining the end of the long customs line. So long as they haven't stopped disembarkation, due to long lines, the time from cabin to airport gate should drop in half.

I wonder if this short line for suite guests at pier 17 in PE will start at the bottom of the escalator? It would be awkard to cut the long line that winds from the ship gangway to the top of the escalator.

We had these tags last Friday getting off Enchantment at Port Canaveral. It works well and there were two dedicated Customs agents!

we received these this morning on Enchantment and we're just lowly D+ and were sailing in a PV cabin. I guess the cabin steward just liked us :D

Our experience was at Port Liberty NJ at the new terminal when we disembarked Liberty. I believe your experience was in Galveston.

Has anyone come back from the Oasis recently that can comment if it is in effect at the Oasis/allure pier.

It was in effect on Oasis two weeks ago. We met in the Suites lounge and were escorted down through the terminal to the suite and pinnacle luggage area. Then led through a special customs station. It worked extremely well, I was in the shuttle back to the parking lot twenty minutes after leaving the suites lounge.

In a CLS suite in Nov on Oasis. It's 12 hour drive home from the port (wife doesn't trust pilots, she was once married to one). In early to get an early start, should we self-disembark or would this special perk get us to our car quicker? Or, would there be much difference?

In my instance we met in the suites lounge at 8:30 a.m., so a lot of self carry walk offs were gone already. But we definitely beat a lot of those folks doing self carry who did not get in line early. I think self carry starts around 7:30 and it is very, very popular.

Oasis, Saturday 7/25: self carry began between 6:30 and 6:45.

Thanks for the info. I have never been lucky with Customs. We have a 9 hour drive so that timeframe is perfect for us. Was the luggage close to the customs line or farther away as reported earlier in the thread ?
