  1. Average price per night is actually mostly cheaper on S class than M class using today's rates.
  2. A lot of CC'ers have a huge misunderstanding how wine and liquor distribution works (or protein in general as seen in the Prime Rib meltdown posts of 2023). Getting a particular wine in a restaurant on land has zero bearing or correlation to another retailer being able to secure that same wine.
  3. Get in and tell the driver you don’t have cash. Like clockwork they will say the card reader is broken. Reiterate you do not have cash and suddenly the card reader is fixed and they will run the meter. They pocket the full fare if you pay cash unmetered. Coming from a city filled with questionable taxi drivers you just gave to beat them at their game.
  4. You'll probably be okay. I'm comfortable with anything after 10am. Walk off is a circus. I try to be polite but you have to just walk in front of people who clearly cannot handle the amount of luggage they have. People just don't think. There is no need to line up at 6:45am to get on your noon flight at an airport that is 10 minutes away.
  5. If Le Petit Chef is open on boarding day you should be able to get a few of the sandwiches at the counter for around $8.
  6. You can’t do anything. Your phone doesn’t support anything higher than iOS 12 and the app requires iOS 15 or newer.
  7. It's mostly the same people who bemoan the same topic over and over and over. Sometimes for months on end. Celebrity still checks a lot of boxes for us. If the recent suite changes impede the experience beyond what we're happy with we will save the money and book verandas. If there's one thing I am not doing on my vacation time it is scheduling 'meetings' with officers and wasting my time chasing complaints. I'll voice my dissatisfaction with my money and not return.
  8. As the email says Power Up Points will be awarded to those who qualify by January 14, 2023. Today is January 13th. They will show up like they always do.
  9. Your deposit has never been automatically refundable just because you used a book later certificate. Or are you saying if you don’t use the certificate the deposit is eventually forfeited? Either scenario conflicts with what the flyer says in cruise documents I just recently received. It says if you do not pick a sail date within 1 year the deposit is refunded. If that has changed I will use the book later form in my edocs instead of the ones they have available onboard and see what happens.
  10. The trend with aircraft is they are getting scrapped much earlier than they used to. Cruise ships will probably follow the same trend with their usable lifespan cut far short of the age we see of today's old ships.
  11. I don't believe that the Celebrity brand would veer into Royal Caribbean sized ships anytime soon. However the one wild card is what happens when Richard Fain is completely out. I'm not sure when he will [ever?] step down as board president but ship innovation has been his thing for decades. We're still probably a few years away from seeing what is in store for the next Celebrity iteration.
  12. For the 25 remaining January cruises from Port Everglades there are only 3 available the rest of the month. 1 of those 3 only has 2 Royal Suites available. The other 22 are sold out based on the Celebrity website right now. February is showing 12 of 20 already sold out.
  13. They already had a meeting about it and the decision was to increase the price. That wasn't an oversight. Now they look at bookings and yields. Are they still up or improving? If so, you can either pay or pick a sub $17 glass.
  14. Lots of January and February Caribbean sailings are either sold out or very near it. Several will come back online momentarily with a stray cabin or two then disappear again.
  15. Non-refundable goes first. You can also ask the TA if they can give you a check. They can't always do it and sometimes it's not always for the full amount but when you have excessive credit it simplifies your onboard account.
  16. This is the root of where Celebrity is making a mess for themselves IMO. Trying to appeal to and appease everyone. They want the lux traveler, the DINK, the young, old (well not according to most here), couples with kids, the big 40 person family with matching t-shirts........ You can't be everything to everyone. They are experiencing some 'jack of all trades, master of none' syndrome. We're going to try a VV at some point but it will have to be late to last minute since their deposit policy doesn't really work for me. Their suite pricing has also increased significantly and aside from the larger room I'm not sure there is all that much value in it.
  17. I doubt any of the spa staff gives a single thought about your health issues. They swap stories just as much as the bartenders make fun of belligerent people, the waiters make fun of demanding guests, etc. They already have your passport info, your credit card info, your address, video surveillance of you around the ship literally any time you are outside of your cabin, they know what you purchased, they know where you traveled, they know who you traveled with. It's a stretch to think that suddenly they have some sinister interest in your medical history.
  18. Are the $9-- prices you are referring to the total for two + tax/fees? For two or for one person? Or are you looking at the base price shown (per person) in the search results?
  19. Yes. Because when an immune compromised person gets a mani or pedi, gets nicked or cut then were to get a gnarly infection from the service and then gets extremely sick…that’s a problem. A problem that many people would try to place blame on someone else.
  20. Apex doesn't have a suite directly next to the Magic Carpet suites. Deck 9 and 10 have two cabins separating the MC suites from the S1's which would lessen the obstruction some. On Ascent the S1 is directly next to the Magic Carpet.
  21. I’m just saying it’s odd it’s the exact same starting price of $2325 per person as the apparent pricing mistakes on a Jan 2024 Ascent cruise and a Jan 2026 Xcel cruise that were quickly pulled back. Virtually every other similar itinerary for both started at over $4000 per person. If it’s an error and not getting booked rapidly it may go unnoticed a while.
  22. For a winter Caribbean cruise we choose late January or February to avoid the spring break crowd. Been doing it for 8-9 years now and have met several other people with the same idea. By mid to late March weather-wise we're getting close being past needing an escape from winter weather too. That suite price starting at $2325 is odd too. We have two cruises book at that rate (Ascent and Xcel) both of which appeared to be a mistake and were increased pretty quickly after being released.
  23. To go back to the golden olden days of the past, isn’t that how it was? Sky Suites were excluded from Michael’s Club or whatever it was called then. Not sure if a suite restaurant existed at that time.
  24. All of the January and February Ascent cruises are nearly sold out. Occasionally one or two will reappear with a random few cabins open then they quickly disappear.
  25. They will use whenever they have on file. You may not receive one at all if it’s not necessary. I don’t have a test that old but this is from 2017…
