  1. That’s how wine programs work. You’re never going to get notable or spectacular wines by the glass outside of specific wineries or wine bars especially on a cruise ship or a resort. You need to purchase bottles for that.
  2. We’ve received the emails for years. Keep in mind that is not a bid suggestion. Thats the minimum to even be considered. There is no guarantee you’ll win an upgrade. I’ve bid in the 75% range a few times and didn’t get the upgrade.
  3. Very strange considering Royal Caribbean just changed their Solarium rules upping the age requirement from 16 to 18. Celebrity needs to pick a lane and perfect it instead of spitballing to see what they can get to stick.
  4. There are no day passes available on my seven night cruise. I don't remember ever seeing day passes on E class ships. It might make more sense to submit a MoveUp bid.
  5. There is very little difference between the wines by the glass offered in the classic versus premium other than the price. They are all commercial wines. Unless you can describe something specific, an appellation, variety or something about the structure of the wine itself that doesn't work for you, you're not getting anything special from ordering by the glass.
  6. What do you consider to be a “good” wine?
  7. Google a different article. That’s not at all what that piece demonstrates. The article would support a lack of wine available to distributors and retailers.
  8. I think this is geared more towards Americans in Europe but they have a few recent posts trying to clarify the dress code.
  9. There is also a huge effort in nearly every industry out there, especially travel, to better understand the major shift we see in people buying experiences versus goods. Millennials tend to be the focus of that conversation but the shift is not at all exclusive to that age group.
  10. What’s the explanation for cruises where suites are near sold out months ahead of Move Up bids being issued?
  11. The Lounge won’t help. It’s not possible. You can sometimes text yourself the URL to the login portal but that trick hasn’t worked for me anywhere in a few years. It’s never worked for me on a ship. Occasionally I will get a stray notification on my watch without my phone.
  12. We tried Princess based on reviews that Celebrity and Princess are mostly similar. That was definitely not it.
  13. By far use the app when it’s possible. I’ve used it prior to and during a cruise. There is no benefit to calling or standing at their podium which always seems to take 15 minutes for an unknown reason. The only way I would do it in person is if you couldn’t make any reservations on the app due to having a dining package.
  14. A ribeye roast is cut differently from a rib roast/prime rib or the petite rib roast which is extremely lean are all from the same primal cut. The majority of ribeye or the rib cut is roasted vs grilled like a ribeye steak you get in the U.S. And all of the cuts have different regional names to make it even more confusing.
  15. Mass production wine from 2021 into late 2022 was a real mess. Supply should be improving this year but they will probably be forced to rework the wine offerings based on what they can reliably get in scale at a workable price.
  16. If you read my post I said if this becomes a regular occurrence that is something that would make me look at other options. We largely choose Celebrity for the lack of kids onboard. People often mention Celebrity becoming more and more like RCI. This is another step in that direction.
  17. It wasn’t called Kids Sail Free but that is what it is. I would find it difficult to believe there is a large number of adults looking to put three and four people in a cabin. Who puts three and four people in a cabin? People with kids.
  18. I'm surprised there hasn't been an uproar about this yet. Piggybacking off of Prime Day I received an email with the usual 40% of the first two guests, then the surprising second part was "additional guests sail free!" on select sailings. That sure smells like a kids sail free promotion to me. Are there many Celebrity cruisers really putting three and fours adults in a cabin? I'm probably more understanding than most when it comes to food cost cutting, efficiency cutting and those type of changes, but if this becomes a standard offer in the rotation of sales and incentives, that's one that will quickly have this DINK household looking at other options.
  19. The water level issues are hardly rumor. It has been a problem for several months and will likely worsen in the next few months. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/panama-canal-water-levels-historic-lows-restrictions-remain-2023-09-06/
  20. My next cruise is $4340.00 Classic drinks, basic WiFi, gratuities and refundable deposit. OBC is listed as $350 from the agency, $120 dinner credit that posts as regular OBC and $250 from Celebrity. Total $720 or 16% of the rate. Aside from that I also have $200 from Amex Platinum benefits so my grand total is $920 or 21%.
  21. The website warns you of this before linking the reservation:
  22. To be honest Zach's experience was more or less the same butler experience we had on Reflection in April 2022. The butler was mostly absent, my husband never met him once and nothing above and beyond was provided or offered. We relied on the concierge in Michael's for most requests which were handled very promptly. Our more recent experience on Beyond was defnitiely improved over the Reflection.
  23. During the day we spend a ton of time out there. It’s basically a bar or seating area during that time. But it’s much quieter than the pool deck. Lots of seating and it’s rarely that crowded and the bartenders are generally very attentive. I find the seating perfectly fine and comfortable - but I can’t say that in general that I’m in agreement with the E class ‘uncomfortable furniture’ peanut gallery. On tender days it can be the tender platform/launch area which is a huge improvement. During the evening they sometimes offer a dinner once a cruise as well.
  24. Never been contacted in person and only once received an email with the "Personalize your upcoming cruise" subject line and that was on an S class ship.
