  1. Yes, I'm seeing advertisements for it here in the Boston area. Hopefully the show is a bit longer than what we get on the ship to make it worth the cost.
  2. One thing to remember, Boston is only a seasonal port. There is no reason for USCBP to install facial rec, etc due to this. Also, the bulk of the sailings are Canada/New England or Bermuda. Also, the port itself doesn't have much space. I believe the one time I had to pass immigration in Boston (it's been quite a few years) they actually came on the ship for inspection as you got off. The last couple of times, I was on a cruise that stopped at Bar Harbor so we had to inspection there (they come on the ship, you can't get off until you are cleared).
  3. When I do a Live, it's because I want to share my experiences with everyone so that someone else reading it can form their own opinion. If I don't do it "Live", I'll forget to include something. But, I'm not doing pictures or anything. Just a quick statement about my day. I specifically chose to do a Live on my Virgin cruise because it was the first time I was on VV, and because they do things very differently. I wanted to be able to let people do their own comparisons.
  4. While I cannot speak for this particular excursion, generally, if the last stop is a beach you are given the option to stay behind. Just be mindful that you will need to find your own transportation back.
  5. In the event of an emergency, the crew will assist you.
  6. While I don't recall seeing this, it doesn't mean it's not there.
  7. While I can't answer your questions, if you are interested in this brand it would be best to do your homework before getting on the ship to make sure that you really are getting a good deal.
  8. It will be up to the manager when you get on the ship. Most likely depending on how many are in each group. No one can tell you ahead of time.
  9. While only Carnival can give you the correct answer, it is my understanding that they no longer allow this.
  10. While I have not cruised on an E-Class ship, my understanding is that there is no set dining and that everyone is considered anytime, regardless of what your reservation might say.
  11. Most of the crew will remain on board to service the people working on the ship. Most of these people live on the ship during this time. Though, there will be an opportunity for them to get a break. The entertainment staff will probably head elsewhere, or just get some time off.
  12. I believe HAL will take proper care of your grandson. The issue is other passengers. Keep an eye on what is near the food item you want. If there are nuts nearby, ask for a serving from an unopened tray that's still behind. The concern is other passengers using the service spoons from one tray to serve themselves from another.
  13. They will need to be stored in your cabin.
  14. In all honesty, the lunch really isn't something to write home about. It's just nice to not have to fight the buffet.
  15. Yes, Carnival and I think HAL charge for distilled water. Virgin doesn't provide it all.
  16. I book Concierge because I prefer the location of the cabin. I don't necessarily care about the perks.
  17. I can't imagine getting off the ship in a foreign country without carrying some form of photo ID.
  18. You can fill a clean glass with your drink of choice from the machines, and then pour it into your cup. I do this with water and iced tea.
  19. Up where I am, there will be school break the week of 4/15. Neighboring states might be the following week.
  20. The point I was trying to make is that they are being gutsy.
  21. I always pre-pay, no matter the line. I will then give additional if desired.
  22. Carnival no longer allows this. If there were an emergency, or you missed the ship, the port agent would work with you to properly enter Aruba so you could leave.
