  1. I understand the cruise line should know what they are doing, but I am not a risk taker, especially in a foreign country! I once took a cruise out of Los Angeles, and had a 11 AM flight from LAX for a business trip out of the country with a layover in MIA, it was the only flight that would get me to work in time. It was the MOST stressful experience of my life. The was no traffic getting to the airport, but the airport itself was a nightmare. I barely checked my bag in time, barely made it through security and RAN to the gate, barely making it in time to board, no time for a bathroom break! Granted, this isn't the same airport but the experience has made me NEVER book anything that tight again because of the anxiety it caused me. The stress is not worth it to me. However, when things like this do work out, it's a happy experience!! I have coworkers who always show up right before a flight. They say it works out most of the time and when it doesn't, they take the next flight. Just depends what kind of a risk taker you are, high risk, high reward. 🙂 OP, enjoy your cruise, and make the best decision for you.
  2. Well, that's disappointing!! I guess mistakes happen, but that would really irritate me! 😞 I guess one always has to be ultra viligent with the onboard charges!
  3. Luckily my flight is 4:30 PM, which I'm thinking will be enough time on debarkation day, but good to know it will take two hours once there to check in and get through security.
  4. I was wondering the same thing, why would only two restaurants be available to book but not the others. Being new to O i just figured, not allowed for newbies. lol I would love to try Red Ginger and Embers, but maybe they won't be ready when Vista first sails, or maybe they want to make it a chaotic mess trying to get people to book them on board? Don't know, but I'm still super excited about our upcoming cruise. Thanks for filling in the blanks for me, and showing that others are jus as confused by not being able to book two of the restaurants. Thanks!
  5. Sounds like torture!! Thanks for the heads up!

    Spa

My husband would kill me if I booked us spa treatments and they cost $836!! That's unfortunate! While I know spa treatments on cruises are overpriced, I do enjoy them. Given these prices I will not be partaking in them in the future. BOO! I will miss that part of my cruise rituals.
  7. Thought this might help with seeing how many dining reservations you get. It's all been said here, but the link has it as well. https://oceaniacruises.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005477653-How-many-dining-reservations-am-I-allowed-in-each-specialty-restaurant-
  8. No harm in booking now and then cancel prior to final payment. You can at least secure a cabin of your choice and monitor for price changes. Hawaii is my all time favorite itinerary and we always go for the holidays, when possible.
  9. We have one Princess cruise booked, post Covid. It will be our first cruise back and all the commentary on cruise critic has me concerned. However, I am seriously considering Oceania, which we've never sailed. So, I appreciate your top 3. Thanks for sharing!
  10. We are traveling with 3 in a cabin. My Princess Planner said the third person can have a different package than or none at all. So, as long as two have the same, the third can be different. Similar to what others have said, but wanted to share what we were told. We decided on not getting the third person anything, will a la carte it.
  11. We always use the same credit card for both cabins and all 4 people (husband and 2 kids) If the “owner” of the credit cards checks the balance they get all 4 folios, if someone else requests it, they only get theirs. Luckily it’s always balanced out in the end. Sorry to hear you are dealing with this. I would not be pleased
  12. We got ours but DH decided to not book any more cruises for now. He got upset the price changed on us while we were looking but I think that's because he gets the First responder rate and I don't (I clicked on email, but then logged in as myself) Feels like we will be doing staycations for a while. He's gone down this route before. Glad we at least have a cruise booked.
  13. Yes, us too, but even with the premier there can be upcharges. So, I'm starting to think that the Plus is all we need. I don't care about photos or internet or extra desserts, BUT certainly not about fitness classes. Just drinks 🙂
  14. Sounds good, and fingers crossed for a free upgrade lol Tipping culture is out of control! lol
  15. We have always taken pods in a ziplock and they have never popped on us. I break one open if I need to hand wash anything in the cabin, and while that is a waste of the pod, taking pods in a ziploc takes up less space than a container, or I've convinced myself that it does.
  16. Yes, but it can be challenging to walk with two glasses of wine in your hands 🙂 In the past they would serve "to go" glasses in different wine glasses than you get at Vines. I've tried walking with two before and its a slow walk to not splash wine. lol I have been known to walk out of the MDR and get a new wine at Vines mid meal... it was an emergency. 👼
  17. Thank you for the comparison. In today's world where so many have been threatening to "leave Princess and try other lines". It's nice to hear that in your experience Princess appears to be the winner of the two ships. It's nice to hear.
  18. While you can charge your onboard account, can you still use good old fashioned cash?
  19. If you want to go on the cruise, keep looking regularly. Don't count on your TA to make sure they book when something opens up. At least, in my experience with Princess that's how we got our cabin on a waitlisted cruise. Things usually open up after final payment, but people also drop out beforehand. Be vigilant
  20. My husband and I have the package for our next cruise, and our son, who is a third person sailing with us does not have the package auto included. He can pay $50 per day or we can pay separately while on board. I cannot pre pay gratuities online. If I want to prepay, I need to call Princess. If your presonalizer does not show 4 separate paid gratuities, then they will bill you while on board for the other 2 people in your cabin.
  21. For those that haven’t received the email and have been verified, I would just call your travel agent or PVP or princess and ask about pricing. The cruise we looked at was about $100 off per person. The email is just a link to a subset of voyages See if that works https://www.princess.com/cruise-search/results/?voyages=3322N,3323N,A313,3324N,B307,B308,B309,E302,E307,G303,G302,G304,G310,G313,G314,R302P,R303N,R303P,R304N,R304P,R305N,R305P,R306N,R307N,R308N,Y302,Y303,Y307,Y309,Y311,G311A,G312A,G313A,X307,X309,E312N,M304N,M305N,X304,X305,X306,X310,X311,E315N,E319N,1302N,1304N,1307N,1303N,1308,1309,3306,E310N,E313N,E317N,E320N,1336B,3325N,1335,A334,1314N,X308,1306N,E316N,X314,E311N,E314N,E318N,H331,8332N,N308,N308N,N310,N313,N316,N319,N322,N325,N328,N331,N334,N326,N329,N332,N335,N330,N333,N336,N337,N338,N339,G317N,G318N,G322N,G323N,G324N,G325N,G326N,G327N,G328N,G329N,G330N,G331N,2309,2310,2311,2313,2314,2315,2316,2317,2319,2320,2321,2322,Y312,Y312A,M306N,8309A,8309N,8309C,8309D,H240,H307,2307&cid=dm_email_promo_internal_na_otherpromotional_rf2ms087c_221205_na&eccn=FUWPYSWXLLXGNBSAVB6C73VWPI&rrid=788706943B&mi_u=788706943B&custId=FUWPYSWXLLXGNBSAVB6C73VWPI&mi_ecmp=RF2MS087C
  22. $10 is not I travel for work, never home. I don’t want to worry about being home for a medallion delivery and now that they are charging for the “convenience” of home delivery, I’ll pick up at the port indefinitely ☺️
  23. I might use one or two of those coupons, but the coupon books were never something I "looked to get". If they were included, cool. If not, meh. I would have liked the BOGO at the Crown Grill.
