Club Royale Casino Certificate Change

So glad to hear they are doing the right thing

 

We are Diamond Plus with almost 300 points so still a long way to go to get to Pinnacle, but using casino certificates towards the cost of suites with double points will hopefully get us there.

 

Thank you to everyone who voiced their concerns and helped ensure the right thing was done.

I'm still not completely convinced that we are talking about the same thing here. The response that maryjaden received was discussing upgrades. The loss of double points for using casino discounts/certificates/rates has nothing to do with upgrades.

 

Before I am confident that this battle is over, I need to hear someone from C&A say that they have abandoned their plan to deny double points for bookings using casino discounts, certificates or casino rates. Until then I am still unconvinced.

Just talked with a CR agent, and they have not been informed of going back to dbl points, it was a system error they were not catching before, and as of April 15, that was fixed hence the date...I find sometimes I get very helpful agents and sometimes very short agents. he really didnt want to hear about the chatter here and didnt know about any meeting nor was told and offered up very little info...

Be forewarned not to let them off the hook. Please continue to voice your concerns, cancel your cruises, send your emails. Call, call, call...

I just called and spent a LONG time on the phone and on hold as they confirmed what we all did not want to hear.

 

The DID NOT change the policy back for anybody at any level!! We will not get double points if you got a casino discount or used ANY certificate towards a suite. Any upgrades at the casino rate will recieve only one point.

 

the casino host I spoke with is very pissed himself, he has been there five years in the casino department and is VERY upset with the policy change. Of course they are pointing the finger at Crown and Anchor.

 

He did say they continue to be bombarded and casino management has required every complaint be documented so they can bring it forward every day. They are documenting EVERYTHING!! He advised EVERYBODY to continue to voice there disappointment with the policy change.

He said this happened once before when they did away with any point rewards for cruises that were free. He said the uproar was beyond belief and they changed it back within days.

Let your voice be heard and the same will happen he believes.Dan

I wonder about those on here who were on Allure which disembarked on Sunday the 15th. Their points should show up today/tomorrow.

 

We disembarked Allure on Sunday, April 15. My points from that sailing still have not shown up in my account. I am not so worried about this one. I think it will be ok. It's the ones going forward that I am concerned about.

Let me explain the situation I was in.

1. I am a member of Casino Royale and have been for several years. \

2. I booked a cabin using a offer of 750 off through Casino Royale as this was better than the certificate. This was originally for a JS.

3. Watching the pricing, I was able to upgrade to a GS, then an OS. I did pay a minimal amount to upgrade.

4. I heard about the elimination of the double points.

5. I sent several emails and had several frustrating phone calls.

6. I finally heard back "Thanks for your patience, Mary. After reviewing the policy, we've decided our Casino Royale members will still receive double points when upgrading. I do apologize for the frustration this may have caused, and please know, we greatly appreciate your loyalty. -Val" This is pasted exactly as I received it in a message.

7. I realize this does not specifically say certificates and did not mean to imply it does. I was simply passing on information I received.

8. I still have a wait and see attitude as RCI is known for their inconsistency. I will know more hopefully on my May 5 sailing on the Adventure.

I don’t understand. It was a Casino discounted JS. The upgrades really don’t matter I wouldn’t think.

 

I’ve never used a certificate only discounted cabins.

The email she got referred to upgrades - yet she originally booked a discounted JS and basically upgraded from a suite to a suite.

 

I am not confident that anything has changed.

They probably have one person in each department doing nothing but monitoring the emails and deleting them as fast as they're coming in.

 

LOL. I'm sure you're right. I got an acknowledgement email from CR but nothing so far from the Bayley camp.

I, too, was promised a phone call once a decision was made. Perhaps no news is good news. Until I personally hear something, I am assuming that the heinous points grab is still in effect.

GOOD NEWS CONFIRMED

 

Nelson Frau of Michael Bayley's office just called me. Thanked me for my loyalty and for expressing my concerns. He confirmed my two upcoming cruises by ship, sail date and confirmation number.

 

He admitted Royal had implemented a new policy on April 15 - CR cruises would not be eligible for double points in Suites, much like you are NOT supposed to get double points on free or minimal cost upgrades, though it does happen sometimes.

 

But given all of the negative feedback they received, Royal has reversed this new policy and cruises booked through CR will continue to receive double points for Suites. This is now in effect.

 

He specifically confirmed my Allure of the Seas cruise on 9/16/18, which was booked through CR using a certificate, then upgraded for additional fee to a CLS would receive double points.

 

So again, thanks to everyone who reached out to Royal. I believe we scored a victory on this one (at least for the time being).

I sure hope this is correct! I am very hopeful but Nelson from Mr. Bayley's office is the one who called me a while back and promised me without any doubt dynamic dining would remain on Anthem. :eek: Fingers crossed.

You are absolutely correct!! I am on the phone with Dave right now from CR he is reapplying my 200.00 certificate and read the actual from corporate saying they made a mistake and reversed the policy back to where it was.
