Excellent Harmony cruise restores my faith in RCCL !!!!!

Recommended Posts

I have finally gotten around to this a month late.

I did not write a review but I thought it would be only fair to give RC credit since our last trip.

We did the Harmony 3/11/17 for Spring Break and it was probably our best family trip ever.

For me RC fully redeemed itself from our Lackluster trip on the Libery last Nov.

All the things I complained about where non-issues this time.

I just though I should share a few thoughts...

-MDR menu was much better. Many of my favorite items where back. And even though my server was mediocre and slow, I overlooked that because he was a nice guy and even brought out a guitar a few times and sang beatles songs for us.

Also in the MDR the waiter & assistant were able to get wine, beer & drinks instead of some elusive roaming bar server.

We only went to 2 shows but had options for the rest. They seemed to time up with late seating this time, unlike before.

We spent our sea days at the main pool which was perfect. When the bands weren't playing, they had great music on (not some TV blaring soccer or cricket).

Bar servers were plentyfull on the lido.

They also set-up a makeshift bar near the pool to get easy drinks & beer. They also had guys pushing around a beer cart.

The deck crew constantly went around and mopped up water around the pool with some sort of zamboni machine.

The rooms have a much better set up and seemed to have more closet, storage, & desk space along with USB plugs for charging. TV programming has gotton worse. I don't remember any movie channels except the Dreamworks for kids.

Overall our entire 10 day trip(3 pre cruise days in FL) went without a hitch and was topped off by great Sunny weather every single day....

Good deal. We had the same thoughts. We did Liberty last May and were disappointed in the experience overall. We were on the first Harmony sailing from Florida six months later and were very impressed.

I had exactly the opposite encounter, very rude crew, horrible food, poor casino experience, and room service came into my room while I was naked, and I had the do not disturb sign on my door, complained to guest services, they did nothing, as a matter of fact, they acted like they didn't care!

Not sure if you meant me but we were in 8568 twice and 8550 once on Harmony in 2016, midship balcony cabins.

43 cruises and counting.

Both rooms were warm 8568 the bed was near the balcony door but 8550 the bed was near the bathroom and it was stiflingly hot on a night.

That is what I am afraid of, I won't be sleeping just like when I was on the Allure, too warm ugh! thank you by the way.

Your welcome. We got the engineer out and they adjusted to make the room cooler.

Try and get a room next to the balcony door as it is cooler, the rooms seem to alternate near balcony, near bathroom etc.

Our room I believe 6130 may be the one with the bed by the balcony door....I guess like you did, I always can call the engineer to see if the temperature can be set cooler at night if we need it. Many thanks!

Your welcome we loved Harmony hope you have a wonderful cruise.

I agree Royal likes to open a ship with the best crew but it's not always considered a reward to the best crew. Just like some passengers, some crew are no fans of the big ships. We've met many that couldn't wait to go to a smaller ship and some on smaller ships that said they would never go back to a big ship.

I would be honoured if i was crew and was chosen to be on the company's flagship but hey ho every one to his own.
