Are there single people on cruises?

Jojo,

Are you looking for a specific age group? There are a lot of single people that cruise...I am one of them also. In fact, I'm going on my first cruise alone (without daughters), on the 15 day Elation repositioning cruise in April.

I love to cruise, but know there will not always someone that can go. I went on my first "solo" cruise last April to see if this was "for me". I had a very good time and will not hesitate to go again. It just worked out that this year my daughter and I are cruising together in May and multiple family members will be cruising together in October.

They will have a single get together one night of the cruise, just watch your capers. I am single and cruise with single friends. Happy Sailing!!

Thanks for that info. My sister will be cruising with me in a couple of weeks and for the first time she will be in a cabin by herself. I will tell her about the meeting. She will love it.

I am married. I'm not interested in meeting anyone (for anything other than friendship), but I may be sailing alone. I am not giving up this trip, but, I am hesitant to go alone. I love to read and relax, so if nothing else I get a week away from home, work, etc. and to myself just to chill.

When I originally posted the question I meant solo, not really single as in single vs. married. I just meant, do a lot of people cruise alone. I just didn't want to be the only person not in a couple, if I end up going alone.

I often cruise solo and a great place to make friends is your roll call! The best of both worlds cuz you can do what you like when you like and/or hang out with others if you prefer. You can also make good contacts at your dining room table - solos are usually placed with other single/solo travellers!
