We sailed RCCL last year and all I wanted was the warm chocolate cake. I tried all other desserts but none as satisfying as the ooey gooey goodness of that warm chocalate cake :p We are sailing carnival again this year and thats all that I think about :)

Soo to those of you who have cruised various cruise lines what is it from carnival do you miss the most?

I agree, why not enjoy whats best on every cruise line that you cruise on, rather than concentrating on what you miss? make the most of a cruise.

This thread was meant to be fun. Didnt say I did not enjoy my cruise nor make the best of it ;)

Everyone has something they absolutely love about a cruiseline..Being this was the CARNIVAL boards I wanted to see what was it about Carnival peeps missed so much whilst on other lines ;)

I missed

TOWEL ANIMALS

Raunchy late night comedians

something to do after 11 pm or when there was no show at 10;30 pm

I hate when they put shows BEFORE dinner ....dinner AND a show is the order I prefer!!!

A FUN PAYING CASINO ...some are ridiculously tight!!!

Also MSC never has Food in PM ...WE would come back STarved from our excursions after 3 pm ...no buffet NOTHING ..I hated lining up with a zillion people for a slice of pizza. Those poor guys could not make it fast enough .If you asked for more than 1 slice the looks could kill you !!!!I have not returned on MSC>>>>>>GEE what a surprise!!!!

If I'm not on Carnival I miss the Chocolate Melting Cake and the Pumpkin Soup (yummm!)If I'm not on RC I miss the adult only solarium On Princess we didn't feel like getting dressed up for formal night and were able to order the same dinner that was served in the MDR through room service. I didn't care for NCL so I miss nothing from that cruiseline

this is a great thread! although im a carnival virgin as of right now, its fun to see what ppl love about carnival.

it shows how much ppl LOVE this line, its not a negative thing at all...ahem...firefly....ahem.....

I miss the big OV cabins when Im on RCL.

On RCL I can get robes and on Princess, so I dont miss them. I dont like chocolate melting cake, so I dont miss that. (sorry, I know its unAmerican). I can check my balance on RCL's Voyager I thought?? Maybe Im mistaken, as people post they miss it on other cruises.

I wish Carnival would put the pizza out to grab immediately when its out of the oven, like the cafe does on RCL. On Carnival I miss getting piping hot pizza. My sister got very cold pizza when she got it too early in the day on last Carnival cruise.

I miss the great roll call parties that RCL puts on, wish Carnival would do them for us.

I cruise on Carnival because its year round out of Galveston, but I dont find it to be a superior product... the big OV cabins are my favorite part of Carnival and the port hole cabin bargains.

The other best thing on Carnival is the hours food is served, more expanded. Iv wanted to eat after the last show on RCL and found slim pickins if I didnt want pizza.

I'm really excited to try this warm chocolate melting cake, and the food overall on Carnival. I can't really complain about any of the meals we've had on RC in the past, but even over on the RC board, people who have sailed both lines give the food edge to Carnival. Excited to try something different. :D

My one and only NCL cruise, I missed EVERYTHING about Carnival. My total NCL experience was that they were trying to imitate EVERYTHING Carnival was doing, but quite poorly. Adding insult to injury, our previous Carnival ship was in some of our ports. How we wished we could just plead, beg, and board that CCL ship.

On Disney, I just missed the good food and casino, although I'm not a gambler. I just find that whole area the heart of the ship at nighttime. But there were SO MANY THINGS Disney excelled at, that we were quite happy with the "exchange".

On RCCL, I ONLY found myself missing that FUN factor. It was like taking a Carnival cruise, on a STUNNING ship, although the food was a notch down. Lots of people, without that community feel. What Carnival does to generate that is always sorely missed.

This is kind of an odd answer because I don't go on my first Carnival cruise until April, but I already know I will miss the hot room service options they have on HAL. I'm hoping the water slide and putt-putt golf (gonna work on my putting while I'm gone!) will more than compensate for it.

This one goes both ways... I wish RCCL had water slides. I wish Carnival had sing-along piano guys like Majesty of the Seas did.

I was on Carnival Triumph last year and there was sing along in the piano bar, but it ws too smoky for me to stay in there for long.

Looking forward to my first Carnival Cruise in April, but have tried various other cruise lines and the thing I missed the most on all of them is the Princess "Movies Under the Stars" screen out on the pool deck at night.

Relaxing on the padded loungers with free popcorn and drink servers waiting on us while floating around the ocean under a beautiful starry sky was one of our favorite cruise moments, and none of our other cruises have had that feature.

Carnival has the best Warm Chocolate Cake!!!! They had a similar one on RCCL but it just was not as good.

Also, usually it is just the hubby and I sailing, so when I went on NCL last year, I hated the fact that we didn't have a chance to make friends with other people during dinner. I actually enjoy the designated dinner time/tablemates. NCL is known for their "freestyle" which I wanted to try, and found out I didn't like it.
