Very good deal in the Sunday papers again today, 12 days on the Diamond Princess ex Auckland on the 23rd Jan 2011,to Sydney, for $1095NZD.

We booked it last weekend, although were told 1095 fare had sold out and it actually cost $1115 (a whole 20 bucks more!).

Fantastic bargain.

My sister and her partner who live in Tauranga jump on that too.

An agent I have booked several cruises with said this week that the following was the best he has seen in 28 years of working in the industry.

I wont quote prices as there are several options available, which will differ for Au/NZ due to flight arrangements . 2 NZ agents are featuring it in full page spreads in this mornings Sunday paper travel section.

So what is it?

Fly cruise on the Paul Gauguin in Tahiti .

There are set dates and a 3 night Hotel stay is included, due to flight times.

You have a choice of Economy or Business .

Economy is , Economy air,Lagoon view Hotel room and Ocean View Cabin on board.

Business is Business air, an Over the water Bungalow at the Hotel, and a balcony cabin on board.

If you have ever dreamed of a luxury holiday, this must be it.

The prices wil depend on how the flights "gel" with the cruise date .

When we did Tahiti on Tahitian Princess we had to have a 1 night pre stay and 2 nights post stay in a hotel ......Hotels are not cheap in Tahiti..

Yes, we looked at Tahiti as an end point for a cruise from Hawaii last year, the hotels and the one way air fare were a jaw dropper!

Shiona - think you are going to need the smelling salts. Have you ever known Princess to offer deals on such great itineraries out of Australia?

I would like to do the sail through the suez canal and the only bargains seem to be on Royal Caribbean Voyager or Costa Romantica and after sailing MSC and Costa in the past, I would be more partial to putting RCI first.

Well Folks the Princess Cruise may look great at that price but not to me as Celebrity Millenium has a cruise next April in Asia.

Hong Kong to Shanghai

Shanghai to Anchorage

Then

Achorage to Vancouver

35 days $4000 for a window with credits

only 11 days at sea compared to the Cherry Blossom cruise that has about double that - about 22 days at sea.

$800 air fare Vancouver to Melboune

airfare to Hong Kong

I think there is more value in the Millenium cruise but some people may consider the air travel not worth it - to me it is a better itinerary and cruise.

I am fairly sure that this package is a NZ one - can't find anything like it here in Oz. The actual cruise over is around $100 pp per night for an inside ( plus flight home) .

Barry, as you know you can get on the P&O UK ships for World Cruise Sectors for around $100 per day. We got Arcadia - 49 days, obstructed view cabin for $5200 pptws on promo, plus £250 obc for the cabin.

But yes, certainly some much better deals around these days for us cruise freaks, than were around a year or two ago, so many Lines to choose from now in this region.

I thought so as well, Barry.

I'm happy to fly to Auckland to start a cruise, in fact we did so for our last cruise.

It would need to be much less than that to make me cry, after all the offers I see emailed to me from US TAs.

P&O UK were advertising a promo the other week..Oriana, Auckland to Southampton via the Pacific/Panama Canal/Atlantic. Inside cabin $2400, around $54 a day ! Now that is a bargain!

Called 'fill the ship' we must not have empty cabins!
