novinha Posted April 17, 2012 #28 Share Posted April 17, 2012 My over 50 years old constitution can't take midnight snacks. At home it's okay if I don't get a snack cause there's nothing good in the house anyway, but on a cruise it's a bummer because I'm a pizza and burger and ice cream person and those things are in abundance on the ship. But I make up for it by getting early breakfast...second breakfast...and elevensies.
BenjiRodney Posted April 17, 2012 #29 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Has to be a burger or dog and fries. I can eat them all week on a cruise. Sent from my MOTWX435KT using Tapatalk
marshhawk Posted April 17, 2012 #30 Share Posted April 17, 2012 I have big plans to order something late at night from room service on this next cruise. I never have before because I am usually asleep by 10, ready to get up for the next day of planned somethings. But this next cruise, we are doing things on our time, not excursion time, so maybe I can watch some movies, order from room service, or find that midnight buffet!:D By the way, I'm at work, it's after 7 at night, I have to take the train home in thirty minutes, and I am starvin. That picture of the grilled cheese sandwich was pure food porn to me. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh:eek::D
bankonus Posted April 17, 2012 #31 Share Posted April 17, 2012 OMG! That chocolate cake looks nothing like what they put on the buffet. It's all mine in September! It kind of looks like the cakes you might order for Birthdays and Anniversary's. Anybody with knowledge of this?
ChefSusan Posted April 17, 2012 #32 Share Posted April 17, 2012 What's my favorite midnight snack? PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!!
aqusis Posted April 18, 2012 #33 Share Posted April 18, 2012 Hands down - room service BLT! They are awesome at midnight (or any other time!):D I concur. The one I had from room service at about 1:00am on the Dream last November was the best thing I had all week!
Frank12 Posted April 18, 2012 #34 Share Posted April 18, 2012 And the drunker you are, the better that room service sandwich tastes! :D
momof5k Posted April 18, 2012 #35 Share Posted April 18, 2012 I discovered the wonderful calzones on the Elation last August right toward the end of our cruise so I have been planning to have those for a midnight snack at least a few times on our upcoming cruise. Now that I have read this post and seen some of those pictures though...i may have to try the room service for the first time now too! :p

twinsmom2001 Posted April 18, 2012 #37 Share Posted April 18, 2012 The chocolate cake is outstanding. The one night we ordered 5 pieces for 4 of us. The guy on the phone kept repeating 5 pieces, 5 pieces of cake. He must have thought we were crazy.

I don't know what it is with the cake, but it is sooo good. And the mousse makes it even better.
miched Posted April 18, 2012 #39 Share Posted April 18, 2012 A Polish 7 course dinner. A 6 pack and a Kielbasa while relaxing on the balcony. Always pick up a sausage during the day and keep it in the fridge, and get a bucket of beer.
Herfnerd Posted April 18, 2012 #40 Share Posted April 18, 2012 We always choose late dining - couple of apps, couple of desserts - are never in the mood for a midnite snack!
SMSACE6 Posted April 18, 2012 #41 Share Posted April 18, 2012 Pizza, de chevre, or the one with anchovies!!!:D And a good nightcap!
bankonus Posted April 18, 2012 #42 Share Posted April 18, 2012 My husband and I stay in the hot tub until they close them around midnight. About 1130 we see them getting the grill ready to open at 1200. It is too hard for us to pass up a hotdog and fries! (and some of those great chocolate chip cookies)

Ginamarie Posted April 18, 2012 #47 Share Posted April 18, 2012 We haven't ordered late night room service in years, because we've been cruising with our kids, but on our next cruise, it's just DH and I. Late night snacks will be mine!!

Markmom18 Posted April 18, 2012 #50 Share Posted April 18, 2012 Well back in the day there was the midnight buffets, but no so much anymore. I know there is 24hr pizza, and room serive, but how about other options. So my question is what do you usually eat late night?I usually get room service, and mainly for the chocolate cake. I order an entree too, but get the cake every night. It sure beats the bedtime mint. Ok, I'm cheating, before I read all these replies...my favorite late night snack are taco's...mmmm...we're on the Splendor..can I get my 'fix'?
