I normally don't either, but I was looking to see what they were saying about Triumph. Of course, the word Galveston caught my eye and I had to see what they were saying!:o

Just took a peek at the webcam...wow it's foggy already...glad Triumph got out when they did. I assume as soon as everyone was aboard and CPB gave the go (time line after manifest submitted) they said full power ahead...

 

I drove in from Austin yesterday a.m. (2/24) and I hit the fog right after leaving Eagle Lake. It was nasty the rest of the way and got much worse yesterday evening.

I was on the Freedom last week and I booked a future cruise.The future cruise guy gave me a list of upcoming cruises

It lists a 12 day (one way)1-26-2015 Carnival Freedom

Ft Laud-ST Kitts-ST Lucia-Curacao-Aruba-Cayman-Galveston

[Repositioning Cruise]

 

It's said there's to be an announcement tomorrow(Thursday 2/27).

It gets foggy at ranch sometimes. I woke up one morning and couldn't see fifty yards. Normally on a clear day I can see fifteen miles in some directions. It does get foggy inland at times.

I'd cruise from Galveston if they did those. I cruise for the destination.....and the itineraries from Galveston are not appealing.

Just got off of Navigator and we were told that the RCCL Liberty will replace the Nav. In 2015. Didn't say anything about 2 RCCL ships being there, but a lot of movement of ships going on.

 

Would really be nice to have 10 day cruises out of Galveston. Don't mind going to Cozumel over & over, and G Cayman is nice, but really don't care for Falmouth, Jamica. Really used to like Costa Maya, but Royal stopped going there and began developing Falmouth. Was told that was because of crime, but I believe Carnival Magic still goes there. Royal has added a Margarittaville (sp?) on Falmouth and it has a really nice pool area for passengers. LOUD, but it seemed the people were having a lot of fun there. :p:D

Looked like Caribbean Princess arrived home quite early last night, I suppose to beat any predicted fog. Only real impact I would think happened to pax was casino closed earlier than expected.

 

Does Bayport terminal have web cams? Or did you just see via vessel finder or something...

I actually saw on VT. Got back from ranch in time to watch webcam to see sail away.

 

Interesting because I just checked that web cam and the Princess ship is at the dock all lit up. Wonder if they had a medical emergency and had to return?

 

Just checked again and they are pulling out.

I think she sailed just a short time ago. Probably a late bus from the airport.

Morning everyone. I just got off the Navigator this morning after a great cruise. Last Sunday was pretty bad because of the fog delay. There was no direction again at the Terminal with 3300 people outside for up to 4 hours, and no restrooms or water available.

 

I walked off with my luggage today having experienced very long lines the past two cruises. We got off the ship at 7.35 and were through and at our car by 8.00 AM. They had placed some barriers to organize the lines so it was much better. Hopefully they have take notice of our complaints about the Terminal.

Contract was recently signed to totally revamp the terminal....So would anticipate major changes down the road.

Really do find it interesting that RCI believes and even larger ship will be profitable in Galveston...love the commitment to the island and the marketplace!
