knew it wouldn`t last...it is all about the profits

Funny when we do rounds of shots without the Cheers program not one person said..."oh no you can`t buy more"

Never were we fall down drunk...never were we not in control....

This crap with "your safety" was a bunch of bunk

I would agrue the number as on CCL `s website it mentions nothing about any limit

Does anyone here not realize that it is always about profits? I know people complain, but let's be real. Every company is about profits. Why should Carnival be any different??

I don`t think anyone has any issues with CCL making profits

But the making up stories about all the reasons there was "a checkpoint'..."no limit" crap instead of just saying we have a limit of 15 drinks

they were marketing an all inclusive drink package....not a 15 drink package

The answer will either be YES, or NO. Then it wil be changed. Then it will be challenged, and reinforced, then changed. Then the term DRINKS will be redefined. Then it will either be YES, or NO. Then profits will be analysed, and it will be changed. Then the whole program will be taken out of print. And then will be discontinued due to lack of interest.

I lust lmao and I laughed because this is so absolutely spot on.

There was something up the whole time, right down to what it was called. Unlimited was squashed right away. And nothing says CHEERS will be the final name. More like the "WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO CALL IT, MARKET IT, OR EVEN EXECUTE IT" drink program.

What a disappointment finding out there's a limit! And only 3 days before we set sail!

While most people don't think 15 drinks are alot, to some people it is. We'll still be purchasing the package on our upcoming Breeze cruise.

I'll be giving a review upon my review.

When I figure our morning bloody marys (1-2), a few beers or frozen drinks by the pool (3-4), glass of wine at dinner (1-2) and a few mixed drinks at the piano bar or casino (3-4), I think we will definitely get our monies worth and not feel shorted by a 15 drink limit. We are going to try it just for the sheer fact of not worrying about our climbing S&S account each time we order something and feel freedom to try things we maybe wouldn't if we had to pay for it item by item. We will be purchasing this on our upcoming cruise and I'll also report on how it went for us.

Obviously it's about profit, I have no problem with the limit of 15. But with a limit I think they could do away with making everyone in the cabin purchase it, if 1 person drinks or 2 or 3, it's still only 15. And while their profits are reduced, they still make a big profit. Anyone who thinks they are not is not really doing the math.

I just read a thread saying that they now have an Unlimited Internet and Drink Package Available..." Internet and Drinks now available again with both being boomed down from space. The charge is $80/day PP.

The only drawback is the drinks will also now come via Satellite so you may have to wait 90 mins to get each one!

All joking aside: we would have never paid that much money for unltd drinks with or without our kids, but no doubt they cancelled the unltd portion for the same reason they did the Net. In reality though who is going to have more than 15 a day anyhow?

Several people will have 15 a day, if you sleep 8 hours that leaves 16 hours to drink. That's only 1an hour average. On port days maybe 2 an hour, still not that much.

I don't begrudge Carnival making a decision based on profit (they are a for profit company, after all), but I do get annoyed when they try to pretend the reason is "guest safety" or some nonsense like that... or when they discontinue popular things for cutback / profit reasons and then call it "lack of interest." Just dishonest. Call it what it is!

was just told by JH the decision was based on both monetary and safety on FB

"John Heald It is both Darren Wood - but safety first and if any guest is seen to be worse for ware from alcohol then they will be refused service regardless. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions. cheers"

I guess for some that are fishes yes. For us, we would have 1-2 at lunch? Dinner 1 or 2? Show the same. Doesn't make sense. Even at an All Inc I couldn't do that.

It still seems like the people that drink 15-20 drinks a day would find this a good deal. If you were buying 20 drinks a day and had to pay for all of them; wouldn't it be better to get the first 15 carefree in the program and buy the remainder? Seems like the math would work out in your favor.

Carnival should ONLY introduce a new product if it is expected to turn a profit, otherwise, they'll have to figure out where to charge other pax to make up for the lost revenue. If it's not a good deal for you, don't buy it and, business as usual, right?

The people who hit the limit get the most out of the program and the pax that buy it for convenience and end up with 8-10 drinks would be the ones more likely to complain about the value.

I think the biggest reason not to buy the package for convenience if you are a moderate drinker is reports of bartenders ignoring you. It may not always happen but it's human nature and happens with the soda card so it would not surprise me.

Lol, I don't think you have to be a fish but there will be several people that can and will drink their 15. You are only talking about maybe 4 hours total with lunch, dinner and a show. What about the other 12 hours ? You may not drink anything in those 12 hours but others will. And you don't have to drink 15 to still save money and make the program worth it, even only drinking the 6 you are talking about will save money, providing they are mixed drinks.

15 drinks:

3 BM in the morning between say 9-10:30am

6-8 drinks poolside between 10:30-4:30

2 drinks before dinner

1 drink at dinner

...so by this time it is 11 drinks for the day

I usually go to the casino...piano bar....sports bar...night club...so limited to 4 drinks for the evening.

Now this is a sea day....Port days would be much less....wouldn`t even come close to 15

My hero! :D

I would need a cast iron stomach. And a bottle of tums.

And a gallon of water the next morning.
