The definitive Cheers program Thread

I have never had the Cheers drink package on carnival, but have sailed them quite a few times,

I know that if you BUY the hurricane souvenir cups, you can get it refilled at a discount (used to be 3$ cheaper)

So, I am wondering if I BUY the hurricane cup, can I then have it refilled with the drink package, it is still under the cost of price limit of the dinks, and I would not be getting the "souvenir drink glass" since I already bought it..

I know someone will say why?? and, its because the plastic cups are flimsy, and drinks melt way to fast..

worst case scenario is you get the drink in the flimsy cup and pour it into the hurricane cup. if the size is the same they should fill your cup but YMMV

Are frozen cocktails included? I like frozen strawberry daiquiris or margaritas. Are all drinks at Alchemy included? How about Blue Iguana? I would prefer fruity, froo, froo drinks! Thanks.

Yes, they are all included. We just got off the Dream and between my husband and I we ordered around 40 drinks from the Alchemy bar alone. We certainly came out ahead with the package.

Good. The child shouldnt have to suffer because the parents are retarded. Someone responsible has to step in

To me, if it's apparent one of the two should not be drinking, then they should allow Cheers to be sold to the husband alone. But I know, they'll get around it somehow.

the reason for the rule is that even though you or I might think its apparent... its not always that way as shown by the person who was pregnant and drinking a drink every hour or so...

there is no 'apparent' and thats why it needs to be this way.

Yes, and I HIGHLY recommend trying drinks from the Alchemy Bar.

Do you have to wait 5 minutes between non-alcoholic drinks. Like specialty Coffee drinks and energy drinks.

Thanks

Lisa

yes and it makes sense because most people dont need 2 sodas or 2 coffees or 2 energy drinks within 5 minutes. 5 minutes between drinks will cut down on sharing a bit

Yes, but if I got a coffee or cocktail, they also let me get a water at the same time. I got, and drank, several water bottles per day.

Yes. So keep in mind CHEERS! ends at 6am on the debarkation day.

Your count goes until 6 AM and then 6-6 until the end of the cruise.

Not true. On a 7 day cruise, you pay for 7 days. Debarkation day is the 7th day. Last December, we found this out when we stopped by the coffee shop at 9am on our way out, and was able to get our Rockstars. The server said yes, the program was still in effect until we leave the ship. We all headed straight to the Casino bar and drank up until we were ready to self-debark. It was great! I was just a little disappointed that I didn't know this on the last 3 cruises!

Hmmm....Really? Cheers aside, debarkation day is usually the "8th" day....embarkation day is usually the "1st" day. Looking at our itinerary for Pride cruise..leaves 9/3 returns/debarks 9/10. If Cheers can be used the morning of debarkation, bonus!!

Are the brewery beers on Vista included in Cheers?

Please tell me more about the brewery, thanks

The brewery beers include Caribbean Wheat, Port Hoppin IPA, American Pale Ale and Java Stout. All are brewed on board the Vista. Thirsty Frog Red is brewed ashore by Anheuser Busch. A few months ago there was a limited edition Guava Wheat beer. All are included in Cheers and if bought outside the program run 5.75 per pint.

I would think about it this way: you pay for seven days of full cheers. You technically only have 6 full 6am-6pm days on the ship. On a good embarkation day, you may get on at 11am. On Debarkation day, you are usually off by 9am. I believe debarkation day would be like an extension of the time you paid for to have cheers on embarkation day. (Of course not for ports who have 2nd day only cheers; I do not know much about those.)

You're looking at it wrong. You need to count 6am to 6am. Debarkation day is the 7th day for Cheers under those hours.

This is 100% correct! We have a late flight for our upcoming December cruise, and I'll be camped at the casino bar that morning, getting toasty for our flight home!

Hi all - going on the Liberty in two weeks. It's been a couple years since I last cruised and had Cheers. A few questions...

1 - we prefer bottle beer over draft. Are bottled beers served & included? If so, will they give you the actual bottle (even in an aluminum bottle) vs pouring it into a cup?

2 - can you still buy more drinks if you use your 15 (assuming you do not appear intoxicated)? Last time, we had 4 mimosas at brunch, a few drinks by the pool for the afternoon, took a nap - HUGE mistake - and at 5pm started our night. By 11pm we were out of drinks but still had hours of "being out" ahead. Disappointing - they wouldn't allow us to buy anything.

3 - I read that buckets of beer by the pool are not included in Cheers. Does that mean you cannot buy them if you have Cheers? Or you can buy them but those beers count against you even though they aren't covered?

Thanks so much. Can't wait to cruise and CHEERS!

The way I understand it is that if you are close to hitting 15 drinks, say you're at 13, then you may want to start buying them and saving the last two for when you are close to being done for the day. They may prohibit you from buying once you hit the 15 mark.

Also buckets of beer are not include so buying a bucket would not count against your 15. Just be sure not to wait until you're out of the 15 to start buying buckets.
