We have a cabin currently booked just above outside area of Crooners. We are on Emerald deck and it is one of the larger, slanted balconies on the port side. We will be on a Baltic cruise next summer. Trying to determine if we should change cabins. Thank you so much for any help and enjoy your vacation!

Glad you are enjoying the Royal Princess like we did. It is beautiful and elegant. I am anxious to read your thoughts on the Laser Shooting Range. As I previously stated, that was one thing that I was disappointed in.

Dave, so glad you're enjoying the Royal... and she's meeting your expectations. I'm loving following your observations and photos.

 

The Sanctuary photo is interesting to me since it sounds like they are experimenting with different options. On the T/A, the Sanctuary opened at 8:30am and to get a lounger for that day, you had to be lined up by 7:45am. Then, I read that they were taking reservations for the next day after 1pm. From the photo, it sounds like they're taking reservations 24 hours ahead. If that's right, people will be lining up at 7am for the next day. Crazy. :(

So, after a really wonderful hour-long post-breakfast conversation in Vines with a couple I had just met from Ohio (Rick and Joanna), I did some more touring of the ship, and I eventually ended up at the Vista Lounge in time for the 10:15 morning Trivia, ran into Geneva and Liz (and DH Larry) again from yesterday's pre-embarkation introductions, and along with David and Jane (DaveyCaper and JaneyCaper) from our CC Roll Call we won hands down. I snagged a Princess Cruises lanyard and Princess Cruises d-clip. It was really fun.

 

Before Trivia I had stepped out onto the aft starboard 'porch' (one of the very small designated smoking areas is back there), and on the way to lunch visited the amidships starboard 'porch', and both areas were being put to good use. The entire starboard side was shaded due to the ships anchorage position at Princess Cay all the way past noon time, and provided a nice area for book reading and relaxing.

 

Lunch was at Alfredo's. OMG. I had the mozzarella caprese, veal pasta pockets, and apple torte with a summer sangria. The service was exceptional, and the food really good. The waiters here also work in Sabatini's and they were very attentive, gracious, and polite. This place was packed within 30 minutes of opening and stayed busy. Now I can see why.

I upload my photos to a Picasa web album, make it "public" and then I can select a photo size and copy the link to the photo by typing [ IMG ] photo link [ / IMG ] -- without any of the spaces. I could also just copy and paste the photo directly from Picasa but then it's often way too big. I have the Picasa app on my iPhone and can transfer photos to my iPhone image library. Then, if I'm using TapaTalk or the CC app, I can select the photo from the iPhone image library. I love the Picasa app because then I have access to all my photos from either my iPhone or iPad Mini no matter where I am.

Dave uses Flickr, I use Picasa. You can use a site like Flickr or Picasa with your PC. You will need to create an account. If you use gmail you can use that same account for Picasa or you can create a new account. I use Picasa. Just put your cursor on a photo in Picasa and press "Ctrl" "C". Then go to your post in CC and press "Ctrl" "V" and your phot will be there.

Glad to hear that you are having a great time on the Royal. Your pictures and descriptions are making me wish we were back on board right now.

I know you are supposed to be vacationing, but I do have one request. The next time you are in Crooners, could you please see Tatyana, the bartender, and ask her if she has heard from Rafeal. He was her assistant during our 5-day Maiden Voyage and left to go home to the Philippines on November 3rd, which was before the typhoon hit and we were wondering if He and his family are alright.

After losing at trivia (twice), a quick nap in between sessions to get rid of a headache, and watching the last tender bob through swells and white caps to return to the ship, we are now headed for our first full sea day.

 

I asked the Passenger Services Desk for the total passenger count (3,192) and the Captains Circle Hostess (Heather) for a breakdown (599 Gold, 403 Ruby, 869 Platinum, 364 Elite, and 957 first timers). Not sure how many kids are aboard, but in the past two days I have seen 5 kids. They're either hiding or not on board.

 

And I watched my first fountain show early this evening which was titled 'Rain'. As if I needed a reminder of our Sail Away lol. As for the fountain show, call me 'simple' (just kidding, please don't ;)) but I rather enjoyed it. But as many have said that real estate could have been best served by something else.

 

Dinner was a quick bite in the Horizon Court; creole ship, mozzarella, grilled fish, turkey something or another, and some olives.

 

Watched the comedian Troy Thirdgill (not bad, not great either), then dancing in the atrium, a quick tasty treat from Gelato (butter pecan), then later tonight some football on MUTS (I'm about all trivia'd out for today). After that I'm not sure what I'm doing but it may involve alcohol. ;)

 

Setting the clocks ahead tonight, too.

 

Tomorrow is our Meet and Greet and I've received verbal confirmation from Ryan (Deputy Cruise Director) that he and Sam our wonderful Cruise Director would stop in and say 'Hello'.

 

Made reservations for this Friday's Crab Shack dinner.

To get the BBCode: on the photo page, click on the rectangle icon that has an arrow coming out of it. Tick off BBCode, then Medium size. Just copy the link that it generates, and paste it here.

If Princess fixes the Regal (central stairway and all that) then for the first time in our total of 40 cruises, we might actually sign up for Anytime Dining and eat in the HC. Those dishes look GOOD! A balcony would be a waste for us on this class of ship so we would go inside, 167 ft is OK.

Hi Kay, I set up an account with Walgreens photo. I just down load my pictures from my computer to there. I select the picture, then hit properties, copy and then paste on my posting with the cruise critic thread I'm on.

4,000? I don't think so. Everything I've read is 3,600 passengers. And that's with every allowable berth booked, including 3rd and 4th passengers. If there aren't many kids onboard, that means it's not sailing at capacity with many 3rd and 4th berths not booked. All or almost all the cabins might be booked but not all the allowable berths.
