Dave thanks for clearing up the mystry for me. :D If one were to eat all that beautiful food you've photographed they would need to use that contraption at least 23 hours a day! ;)

All of your photos are WONDERFUL but don't forget to take time to enjoy your cruise!

Hey, Dave, I could be wrong, but are there more than 20 shirts in that closet?!? :D. And two shopping bags...someone's been having fun!

So happy you're enjoying yourself! The photos are wonderful, and not just the "food porn." But those seafood pots look fabulous; I might just have to try that one night. WOW!

Don't forget to save some experiences for next week!

Cheers,

Roseann

More of the Christmas decorations

Why would they have an open staircase in the Casino where the most concentration of smoke exists? Seems to me it promotes spreading smoke pollution over a broader area whereas other ships have single floor and exhaust fans.

The pictures are amazing.... makes me want Sunday to get here quicker!!! What type of camera are you using or is it your IPhone?

The pictures of IC will be shown to my DH tonight as you photographed one of his favorite pastries...

Thanks again Dave.

I've been on here since Sunday, and I've never noticed the smell of cigarettes in the ships stores or art gallery above the casino.

Hi Dave

I asked this before but I think it got lost in all of your great photos.

Have you heard anything about them solving the soot issue on the aft balconies?

And could you find out the age of the whiskeys in the Glen flight? (My husband says there's a huge difference in the aged ones and the non aged - I have no clue. )

Thanks!

We spent 12 days on the Royal last month and went by the open areas above the Casino quite a bit on our way to and from Crooners and never had a smoke smell.

BTW Dave, did you get a chance to talk to Tatyana?

Italian Night in the Horizon Court looks amazing!!! Lots of different focaccia, calamari, calzone, frittata, stuffed arancini, risotto, tortellini al pesto, penne, peasant pasta, lasagnas, shrimp, salmon, cheese bread, and pizza. Wow!!!

Gonna eat, check out what's going on for entertainment, and later an adult beverage of some sorts.

Ciao for now!!! :D

On our cabin crawl yesterday one of the rooms we toured was an aft Owners Suite.

Bob, now I get it.

As for soot the folks booked in that room had a towel on the floor to keep from tracking foot prints on the carpet, you could see the soot in the water draining canals along the balcony perimeter, and the had beach towels on the loungers. It wasn't raining soot, the balcony wasn't a tar pit, but I could see how it would be disappointing to those who book aft facing suites and balconies for a reason.

Ah,memories! On the Maiden I was in D440, just above the nose of Lifeboat #8 between that and the smaller guide boat in front of it. For the 2nd leg I was in E220 which was down a deck (closer to Crooners) and between the two sets of lifeboats. No obstruction at all in spite of it being advertised as partially obstructed!! Thanks for the memories, David! Keep enjoying! Oh, and you could try to manage a smile! :D Just kidding!

The two pics before the "tripping place" is where we did Sail Away on the 2nd leg of our b2b on Nov 3rd. Great spot to be. The Coast Guard cutter that escorted us out of the harbor put on quite a show, zipping by us at pretty much open throttle, turning around and zipping back by us again. The "gunner" at the 50 caliber deck gun was waving and yelling and smiling himself silly! And the guy driving the cutter was waving like crazy too! It was probably one of the most interesting Sail-aways I've ever been on! Such fun....and dang it all, my movie camera was in the cabin!!

Hey Joe & Amelia! I agree with your observation! I'm a former smoker, albeit over 15 years ago, but I can smell cigarette/cigar smoke a mile away and did not notice ANY in the vicinity of the Casino. AND, when we did our 2nd M&G in Club 6, which is directly adjacent to the casino, there was no offensive odor of ANY kind, smoke included.

I'm also waiting to hear about the safety of the Filipino crew's folks, so watching for Tatyana's response.

Merry Christmas!! :)
