Hoping you are having a great cruise. I just found this thread and did a little reading up. Enjoy the ship. You did make it well known to all of us on the transatlantic so far ahead of the cruise.

Your pictures are great and some are shots of the ship we were unable to get ourselves....

I don't want this to come across the wrong way, although it probably will, but has Princess done nothing special for you??? No cabin upgrade, no extra OBC, no free specialty dinner??? Nothing? I know you started the Everything thread out of your own interest for RP and we all hopped on because of our own interest, but nothing? Nothing? Let me simply say that I am disappointed, but you are such a gentleman that I know you will never say.

Thanks for finally saying what I'm sure many of us have been thinking!

Come on Princess - step up to the plate! :(

We were in one of those cabins on the 11-10-13 sailing. Please email me off the boards and I can help you with this!;)

I was in E220 for 7 days on the 11/3 cruise! Loved it, and the balcony was quite a nice size. Even though it was advertised as a partially blocked view, I was hard pressed to find where it was blocked!

Thank you, Shogun! I kinda figured something was up that should not be mentioned publically! Suffice to say that the M&G on the Maiden yielded a great video that will be delivered to Dave's cabin! I'm sure he will enjoy that! Thanks for all our past and present help!

Just got an email from Princess announcing that the Regal will be setting sail earlier than expected. First maiden Med voyage is 7 days, Venice to Athens, May 20th. Return trip with totally different ports on May 27 (6 days) and can be combined for a 13day adventure! Looks like $1299 is the starting price for each leg! Keep an eye out for it or go to Princess.com.

This was announced October 17th (see http://www.princess.com/news/press_releases/2013/10/Regal-Princess-to-Debut-Early.html )

The e-mail is only a sales push.

We heard from the engineer on board that cutting the center staircase was a 3 million dollar savings. I didn't mind that but the theater could lose some aisle chairs to makes aisles on both ends.

That isn't an expensive change for the regal. :)

I have to say thank you again for putting things into perspective. I know I was disappointed when it seemed nothing wonderful had happened for Dave. We all owe him so much and we're insisting that Princess "pay" him what we owe him and that's not right either. I realize that a lot of people, myself included, would probably not have chosen the Royal for our next cruise had it not been for Dave's thread but that is between Dave and me, not Dave and Princess.

Other people found ways to bless Dave and I'm going to try and step up to the plate, just as soon as one of you cruise vets tells the newbie how to procure an onboard credit thingie so Dave can belly up to the bar, the extra charge restaurants or the gift shop on me, not Princess ! A little help please and I will do the right thing-not the socialist thing. There's way too much of that going on in my country these days!

On the Royal a CCL exec said that things not done were to keep cost within budget which is a top Arison priority. Although the updates now being done on Carnival ships were included during construction of Princess ships. So it's good to know that the essential primary systems was not where Princess made their cuts.

Thus it's no surprise to me that the unfinished stairs (and other things) were eliminated to save money.

Since he will be on the next segment, there is still time. Contact Princess and say you want to provide whichever gift it is. You will need his name (posted in a picture earlier with his cruise card), the ship and sail date. They can figure out the cabin he will be in for the gift.

"I realize that a lot of people, myself included, would probably not have chosen the Royal for our next cruise had it not been for Dave's thread..."

That goes for us as well. Our group of four had read so many negative comments about "Royal" that we'd begun to panic and seriously considered cancelling this cruise and re-scheduling on another ship we knew and loved. Then we stumbled on "Everything Royal" and decided we probably had made a good choice, after all.

And I have to say that this thread, specifically Dave's input, contains the most valuable information of any others. Love seeing the food and the "Patter" images. This will be my sister's first Princess Cruise (has cruised Celebrity), and she's been asking a lot of questions. The images provide so much info!

We had our Cruise Critic Meet and Greet this morning in Club 6 at 10am, and although roughly 80 had been listed as showing interest in attending, less than half actually showed up. I think that's probably normal?

We were honored to have Captain Dino Sagani, Cruise Director Samantha Hawker-Thomas, Deputy Cruise Director Ryan Adams, and the Manager for Customer Relations aboard Royal Princess Mr. Joy Nagvekar attend and chat with us for about 20 minutes. It was a lot of fun, and Captain and ships staff were all incredibly charming and gracious.

After the M&G about a dozen of us headed down for the Pub Lunch in the Crown Grill and everyone agreed that the food was delicious.

I walked around for a while taking pictures with my iPhone of the top deck areas, as the weather was absolutely gorgeous, the seas calm, and the temperature reaching over 80 degrees.

We also had our Cabin Crawl at 2pm and it was amazing to actually see the different types of accommodations and balcony sizes first hand. I also got to see what's in that 'middle space' between aft facing balcony cabins on Aloha Deck.

According to the Youth Center Counselors there are a total of 48 kids aboard between the ages of 2-17 (23 of them between 3-7, 14 between 8-12, and 11 between 14-17).

Before dinner I tried one of the Whisky Flights offered in the Crown Grill. It included a 1-ounce pour of three different Single Malts: Dalwhinnie, Craggenmore, and Talisker.

Dinner was again in the Horizon Court with a snack from The Pastry Shop.

Tonight was also one of the big production shows titled 'Colors of the World'. I missed the first one and had wanted to see the 8:30 show time but by time I got there at. 8:10 the Princess Theater was literally full. Maybe I'll catch the last show at 10:30.

I've got a lot of pictures to post but they'll come tomorrow (as well as trying to answer any and all questions I may have overlooked) since we will be in St. Thomas and I can use AT&T instead of my internet minutes, but for tonight I will leave you with the Princess Patters for tomorrow...

Goodnight for now!

Thanks carbill, that was easy peasey and DONE !! The gifts and services office was closed but one of the Princess people who books the cruises did an onboard gift credit for me with just Dave's name and sail date !! This way he can spend it on what ever he wants. NOW I'm happy ; )

Dave, I'm late to the party as we have been away for the Holidays (not cruising unfortunately). You are like the gift that keeps on giving--thanks for the wonderful pictures and allowing us to share your excitement as you experience Royal Princess for the first time. Thanks to your marvelous thread, you made our first TA on the Royal our best cruise ever. We loved the ship, and I'm so glad you're enjoying her too. I'll be cruising along with you and enjoying all the sights as you share your memories with us.

How can one go on a cabin crawl?

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Roll Calls on specific sailings will organize some activities on their own. Member from the Roll Call may share shore excursions, create Trivia teams, have cocktail parties in their cabins, or organize a slot pull.

The ship has nothing to do with the Cabin Crawls. They are typically organized by members of the Roll Calls well before the ship sails.

If you have a sailing booked, you may want to join your Roll Call.:)

Since we booked in October, I've been looking forward to this cruise. When I found this thread yesterday, "looking forward" turned to "excited!" The photos, and excellent descriptions are great.

Dave, can you say if Christmas decorating has begun yet? We were told it would be decorated for our cruise on 12/8 but on another thread I read that it isn't yet.

Can anyone who's cruised Celebrity tell me how Royal will compare? We invited my sister and BIL on this one and I'm hoping they won't be disappointed after being on Celebrity. I want them to be impressed with the food, cabin, décor, etc. Our adjoining cabins are B104 & B108. Is that too far fore or is it wonderful? (DH and I have been mid-ship on past cruises and we were pretty happy there.)
