RCCL Fan Solo on Carnival Sunshine

While at Fat Tuesday, a sign caught my eye.

Wrong Lynchburg, but, still......

I went back to the cart and my shells were ready.

$5 each and they were purple. What more could I ask for?

Wrona? What the hell kind of name is that? It must be a misprint. I'm not sure how it got into my bag. Oh well, if there is anyone out there with a crazy name like this, email me at maureen0924@msn.com and I will send it to you. ;)

By this time, I was hungry, so, I decided to head back to the ship for another Guy's Burger and a nap. I woke up in time for departure, but, we weren't leaving. The Captain made an announcement that we were delayed due to a passenger requiring "huge medical assistance". Oh my, that sounded bad.

I decided to calm my nerves with another Pineapple Chipotle Martini. On my way to the Alchemy Bar, I ran into the comedian, Tony, who told me the other comedian, Mutzi, had been taken off the ship that morning with appendicitis. I sipped my drink while Tony talked to his agent or somebody. He was saying, I gotta do four shows tonight!

Notice the black pepper in my drink- tasty!

The show that night was a 70's disco theme. They advertised that pre show fun would begin at 6:45 and the show at 7:30. Well, since it was a New York, Studio 54 type ambiance, the "fun" consisted of 45 minutes of listening to sirens, horns honking and jackhammers. Exactly what I cruise to get away from. For 45 minutes. Not cool, not fun.

But, the show itself was great fun, including this handsome young man doing a strip tease.

The show had a lot of audience participation, including my friend, Michele and the older gentleman I showed you earlier.

I hit the buffet again, got some pizza this time then went back to see the show again. This time, instead of "enjoying" the "fun", I had a glass of wine in my cabin for my own pre show fun.

After the show , everyone spilled out into the atrium for a Mardi Gras party. The cruise director and her staff were tossing out beads and I managed to snag a few strands. I gave them to some little kids who were nearby. I ran into Michele again and she and I did a mini cabin crawl. She was particularly interested in my cabin, because her family would be in a similar cabin in a few months.

When I got back to my cabin, this was waiting for me.

I still haven't figured out what it was.

Finally, I arrived ay my destination, The Alchemy Bar.

Working in pharmacy for 25 years, I was interested to see what this themed bar was all about.

It looked like every pharmacy I've ever worked at.

Well, maybe not EXACTLY..........

Various syrups and tinctures, sorry for the blur.

I felt at home here.

Awesome! Are you a pharmacist? (I have been a pharmacist for over 30 years, and would find this bar to be very nostalgic too!)

What a spectacular review! This ship looks awesome and it looks like you really had a great time. I like a little booze too, and it looks like there's plenty of it! You might have just convinced me to try and book a short little Carnival excursion, maybe in December. Maybe we'll run into each other sometime, looks like you're a blast. Looking forward to reading more!

No, I am a technician, have been for 25 years.

Plattsburgh! You're more likely to run into me on land. I've got family in St Albans who work at North Hero State Park! :)

You are cracking me up! Love your writing style! Best review I have read so far. We are sailing on the Sunshine in May 2015. Different itinerary though. Glad to get an outside view of Carnival. We have been on 3 cruises and all have been Carnival.

Love, love, love your reviews, Maureen! We've never considered flying from Richmond (a couple of hours by car); heck, we barely want to go to Reagan National, since we live about 7 miles from Dulles International, but their flights to south Florida are becoming pretty rare. Where did you park? Was it included with your hotel room?

Good thing I'm alone in the office right now -- when I saw the family photo I cracked up. As someone already said -- that is EPIC!!

I'm in NoVa and was trying to come up with cruise-related plate, too. Since I'm originally from RI, I decided on "OCN ST8." But because I really want to be on the ocean and not back in RI.

Can't wait to read more of the review.
