Concierge Lounge on Oasis

Sorry for the vagueness of my question, I was trying to ask with the new Suite lounge and Diamond Lounge, doesn't that cover everybody (Diamond, D+, Pinnacle, Suite Guest)?

In essence, this makes the CL superfluous, doesn't it?

Yes, it covers everyone. However, for those D+ who like to spend time in the lounge, they may now have a more crowded space than they did before, and they may have lost (still unknown) the ability to have made to order breakfast and lunch.

It would have been nicer had they put the DL where the CL was, and put the restaurant down on deck 4. The CL location is way nicer.

In theory yes it would have been nice. However, when the old Diamond lounge was busy they would use Blaze strickly at night becasue of lack of capacity. If they used the old CL that could/will happen a fair amount. For example, last fall there was 200 Diamond cruisers on the Oasis we sailed on. That being said the week after there was only 50 Diamond members on board so the used the D lounge at night.

I agree, but I guess their thinking is they wanted Coastal Kitchen as close to the new SL (new acronym to play with!!!) and the pricey loft suites as possible. I'm sure the ship within a ship setups on other lines have not escaped the attention of RCI brass.

Just to add more confusion although hopefully it is becoming clear - I am now watching the Oasis of the Seas update webcast for Travel Agents that was shown earlier today.

After stating the changes are coming to decks 11 and 12 where the Concierge Club and Chef's Table were, they made it clear that the CL is closed for the transatlantic and will reopen in it's original location after the crossing. The area is only being used for construction purposes during the crossing. In fact they specifically stated that the Chef's Table and Library will end up as Wonderland, opening on March 14, and will share the space with the Concierge Club at that time. Between October 27 and March 14, the Concierge Club "will be the primary user of this space" as they said.

I would think that the 2 women leading this webcast know what they are talking about. Renee Didier and Aimee Price are the Royal Caribbean Sales Training Specialists.

Either we are all have been misled for weeks now or some of the people on board are misinformed about the changes coming to their ship. I can't believe the webcast would be wrong.

Dynamic Dining reservations will begin to be taken on January 1. It will be rolled out on March 14 on Oasis as already known and on May 20th on Allure which I hadn't heard but may have missed if it was already announced.

One other thing that was mentioned is that hot rocks will still be available in Izumi in addition to the hibachi grill.

PS - Diamond+ can now rejoice. (I hope) :p

Well, here is my big "HUH????"

The Chef's Table is currently on Deck 12.

The Library is on Deck 11.

Gina's description makes it sounds like RC thinks that they are adjacent.

Absolutely!

And I know of people on board who are being told the CL on deck 11 is gone. Well, it is for this cruise.

I don't know what to believe anymore but the wording in the webcast was plain and simple with no room for misinterpretation. The CL is staying where it's always been. That's what I believe (today) ;)

Yes, those two areas on both decks are being used as Wonderland according to the webcast. They were both used for Chef's Table even though the library was a room full of books. It seems now it will actually be designed as part of Wonderland. Maybe they will even change the way the stairs access the upstairs - that is just my thought. I don't know, they didn't mention the exact design. The library is directly under the space upstairs.

Wording on webcast was the most clear and concise statement to date. So, hopefully this is the case - as is substantiated by the concierge lounge still being on the new deck plans and newly updated online profiles of Oasis/Allure.

As a D+ guest, I am very happy about this position. But frankly, as a suite guests who picked their room on deck 11 some time ago, I'm happy I can continue to have the CL right outside my door, in addition to the suite and diamond lounges elsewhere.

No mention of when. Just where it will be. And how her two little boys love the hot rock since they are too young to do much cooking at home - and how the hibachi will be in addition to the hot rock.

There was no mention or glimpse of the misspelled sign either. :)

For all we know, maybe that was the message staff onboard were trying to convey (not being there or actually hearing the message, it is indeed possible that staff was trying to say "it is currently unavailable", but it was being heard as "it is permanently gone").

Takeaway lesson from this is NEVER EVER take anything said or heard onboard as absolute fact. How many threads have been started with "An officer told me....."

Well, this is interesting....

Looking at Ken´s pictures here the old CL is more like a storage. It doesn´t look like any construction is currently going on. The library is still open. So I definitely doubt that the CL will be open after the TA.

Looking at the rendering of Wonderland which shows the upper level (deck 12, former Chef´s Table area) there will be only one larger table on deck 12 (and actually there´s not much more space up there). So the main seating area of Wonderland will be on deck 11. I assume that they also need a larger galley for Wonderland. I don´t remember where I read something about the number of seats in Wonderland but I do have 60 in my mind. Deck 11 is not that large that you can operate a restaurant plus a lounge.

Then think about it... CL would be for Diamond+, Pinnacle and Suite although Pinnacle and Suite do have the Suite Lounge. Unless you have separate rooms and an entry control you can´t really use that area for both, a CL and a restaurant.

Fact is that all signs and deckplans onboard do only show "Wonderland" and no more CL.

I've wondered that, too. Not everyone speaks or understands English in quite the same way.

Of course when staff is told there will be a suite lounge on deck 17, they may also believe the concierge lounge is going away, thinking of both lounges as being the same thing. That coupled with hearing Wonderland will be on decks 11 and 12 and not getting detailed information contributes to the misinformation.

So in reality, having 3 lounges will contribute to less crowding. I wonder if suite guests will still have use of the concierge club. And will they have 4 concierges per Oasis class ship?

LOL....a captain once told me his ship would be getting shower doors instead of curtains during it's dry dock. I mentioned how great this was going to be to the hotel director. The hotel director told me he'd have to straighten the captain out on that.

So really, even if something is in the plans, until the day it happens, anything could change no matter who says it's going to be.

If the CL doesn't open back up on deck 11 on Oct 27, then RCI has a real problem with their webcast training for travel agents.
