Yeah I saw you hanging out on the MSC board… Honestly, I would recommend taking NCL a few more times and then status match to Black on MSC before trying them out. You'll get a free chocolate ship and everything :D

I was actually excited to try something new, up until I started dissecting their beverage package. Sure, coffees and bottled waters are nice. But to exclude guinness cans and grey goose?? That seemed like an odd cutoff point, especially since those were my go-to choices on the Dawn. Sure, I could survive on sam adams for a week - which is literally the most exotic choice available.

Plus, with teens, how fun are those away and away+ ships??

Now all I have to do is get Beau Tahana under contract.

Are there feature dish nights in the complementary dining areas like Aqua? Are those listed somewhere if so... I didn't see on dailies?

Trying to figure out WHEN to book our 3 nights specialty.

Yes the 7 day cruise menu's are the same on NCl. If you do a search you may find photos of the menus.

When you board you can check out the full weeks menus. Just ask.

Every day after lunch they post the dinner menu at the restaurant door.

Two of our favorites are day one is Tenderloin, carpichio, and shrimp Risotto.

On day 3 there is Bouillabaisse.

They also have daily regulars like chicken etc.

There are also upcharge items like lobster and steak in the MDR daily.

Uh oh... I think I started a dangerous trend. :D

I'm trying to figure out if she's giving you a hand gesture in her sleep. If so... very impressive!

She sleeps that way...doesn't everyone?

So we have 3 day specialty dining. Any advice on which 3 days to do specialty dining? They used to have certain nights like prime rib night in the MDR and I was wondering if anyone knew what day of cruise that is or does it change?

The menus are the same for 7 day trips. You will also see specials at O'shes like rib night . I think they also had a prime ridb night. As you walk through they have a tent sign posted. With all the special dining options it's hard to nail down all the options. good thing is you can make changes on board once you've checked out the menu's.

We choose day 2, 4, And 7, just to break it up. Never wished we were in the other place.

Is that true on the Dawn? I never saw the special listed on the daily, and didn't notice a sign posted at the hostess stand (although I might have missed either).

Wow - I just realized we completely missed O'Shes this time, around other than a solo late night hit. I don't think Sue ever stepped foot in the venue. Which is surprising, considering how much we dined there on the Escape.

I have a Oct 7 2016 Dawn Dailey that shows a Osheas special prime rib on the bottom of page three. TI also have a seafood basket on the next day. The seafood was also listed in the insert on day two. Seems like they didn't post it on Dougs daileys? I will be watching for all this in February.

How do you pre-book for a slot tourney? I am sailing March 12th but don't see that as an option yet. I also don't see internet package as an option to purchase? Are those available to pre-book?

Trying to book and pay for everything ahead of time that is possible. :)[/quote

Find your roll call for your sailing, that is where you will find slot pulls. NCL does not handle this.

You can find your roll call by tapping on yellow line close to the top of this page and look for roll call tool, enter your ship and date and connect with your fellow cruisers.

Any slot pull organized by your CC roll call friends will be when you all meet up and put up your money. usually $15. At the meet and greet.

On board they also will have various events in the casino. On our last cruise they had a sign up table on day one in the casino. Sometimes black jack tourney, poker, slots. All that is also when you get there.

Log on to the website.

then

Check your "gifts and more" section of your cruise planner, you may see on board credits available for advance purchase. Also you can prepay your tips if you haven't. That's where the internet packages are also.

If your on the Dawn with me, here's our roll call link.

Saw as of Sept. that Beau was on the Getaway. I can only hope he has a really long contract and is still there in March. I love that guy!!

A quick disclaimer about this next video... I believe I mentioned in the live thread that while reviewing a time-lapse I discovered that my neighbors in 12518 were quite visible. Well, this is that video.

Purely by coincidence, the family shared a bus with us returning from Maya Chan, and once the connection was made we all had a good laugh about it. When this video was recorded, they were well aware of my camera - and they even mentioned that their boys tried waving to it a few times. They had no problem with me posting it.

I did, however, choose a different angle for future videos.
