CCL Cabin Info Compilation - No Cabin Questions posted here please!

Recommended Posts

Special thanks to Mysticks1 on the Celebrity Cruises forum for this idea. I would like to begin to assemble one for CCL.

To the moderators, I would appreciate if we could make this a "sticky" at the top of the page for all to see.

I have seen this on other forums also and it seems to be useful.

Please, refrain from posting cabin questions here so this can purely be an informative thread, especially for those that are first time cruisers or seasoned cruisers looking for a great cabin.

The template is as follows:

Ship -

Deck -

Stateroom # -

Stateroom Category –

Starboard or Port Side -

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -

Was wind a problem? -

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Ship - Magic

Deck - Lido

Stateroom # - 10204

Stateroom Category – 4J

Starboard or Port Side - Neither. Fwd

Quiet Stateroom? – Yes, very quiet

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Loved the location and being on Lido deck. Also loved having a big window at an inside cabin price. Somewhat obstructed but great view. Wind only a problem if you go outside to the "secret" deck while the ship is moving. The cabin is all the way fwd so motion may be an issue for some but we loved it. Definitely recommend the 4J cabins on Magic.

Ship - Splendor

Deck - 6 Upper

Stateroom # - 6410

Stateroom Category – 8b balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – The life boats were all below deck 6 so the view was great

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal 2 person cabin

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? - the shower drain was very slow (a few times the bathroom floor flooded)

Any other comments? - Excellent cabin IMO. The elevator cove was in front of the cabin so no long walks to them. The aft lido buffet was just a few steps (and a few decks) above us. Port days required a walk to the front of the ship but it only bugged me coming back (happy to go, tired when I got back)

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Room itself was quiet except at night when what I can only assume was horse-riding practice on the floor above in the Lido buffet. This wasn't constant but happened often enough for me to notice and I am usually very heavy sleeper.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Beautiful view out and down. High enough up to see a good long way, no obstructions.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal - 2 chairs and a little table.

Was wind a problem? - I never noticed it and I was out there a lot.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Any specific problems with this cabin? -

Any other comments? - Next time, putting a cushion between me and the cavalry but the room was comfortable and the steward and the cruise were still all wonderful.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - This is a bigger aft extended than the middle cabins on this deck. There were 2 chairs and a table but could have gotten 2 loungers on the balcony.

Was wind a problem? - Never a problem

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - It can get hot in the aft balconies. There is no wind and very little shade.

Quiet Stateroom? Absolutely NOT!! Directly over IMAX theater. Don't book any of the inside Lido rooms aft of the elevators. Terrible booming bass/vibrations every night until 1-2AM.

Cabin was not a connecting stateroom

Positive aspect of cabin was good A/C and close proximity to pool, bar, and food.

The gate latch to the balcony would also jiggle open in rough seas, so make sure to take something with you to tie it shut as it will slam pretty loud. Or just use a bathrobe belt like we did to tie it shut.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - only electrical outlets are near the desk, which is 2 feet from the foot of the bed ( twins placed together for king) so if you need outlets

for CPAPs or other therapy machines, you'll need an extension cord from the steward.

This will not be an issue though if you are like us always out enjoying the music. I ran to the room one night for something and heard it with the door shut.

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly quiet but located right under outdoor seating on Lido Deck near pool. We sailed Valor before the 2.0 upgrades, so this seating is located right at Guy's Burger Joint. We could occasionally hear chairs being moved above us but this didn't seem to be a problem at night. We could hear it during the day, but it didn't really bother us.

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Not exactly. It wasn't really noisy, but right across the hallway was an area where we'd hear a lot of dish noise, especially in the mornings. It was also above the Promenade but over the area right across from Taste Bar and seating along the windows. Occasionally we could hear base coming from the Dance Club at night, but it wasn't anything that kept us from sleeping.

Ship - Vista

Deck - 2

Stateroom # - 2486

Stateroom Category – FE - Family Harbor Ocean View (Obstructed view)

Starboard or Port Side - Aft

Quiet Stateroom? Our stateroom was very quiet. We heard nothing from our neighbors or from above. Occasionally we heard and felt some vibrations, but our friends on other decks commented that they heard and felt the same thing.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – N/A

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A

Was wind a problem? - N/A

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None!

Any other comments? - The obstructed view consisted of a platform extending about 20-30 feet from the stern. This only prevented us from looking directly down into the sea. Our beautiful wake view was still completely visible beyond that. We deliberately chose a cabin in the Family Harbor area even though we were traveling without children. It was very roomy and comfortable, had double closets and a large sofa. We loved having the perk of the Family Harbor Lounge available to us for grabbing a very nice breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausages, various cereals, waffles, fruit, pastries, etc., or just cup of coffee in the morning, sandwiches and cookies midday, or a soft swirl and cappuccino in the evening. This cabin was a great choice for us.

Ship - Splendor

Stateroom # - 2245

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard forward

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – the room was very quiet. When looking on the map, there is a blank area to one side. I found out one day what this is the hard way. The black area are cabins for entertainers. We had several comedians on that cruise and that is where they stayed. One afternoon I was not feeling well and wanted a nap. Well no go because the 2 comedians were literally on their beds with doors open talking to each other. One had a very deep voice and when he laughed the room almost shoot. besides this very quiet.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Any specific problems with this cabin? - as someone else mentioned, there is only one outlet by the desk. I like to charge my phone overnight and use it as my alarm clock so I had to charge as much during the time I was in the room. I never had a full battery lol. Also I found that once the twin beds turned into a king, you still had to sleep on the twin. I thought there would be something put in the middle to bridge the gap but no. I was solo and was excited for a nice big bed. No luck there :(

Any other comments? - I like being close to the front. The only time I go aft is dinner and pool or comedy shows. Plus its good to get some movement in during your cruise lol

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No, near the lobby elevator. The elevator isn't the problem, it's the fact that the atrium is open to the 6th deck, and the noise from things going on down there spills through until about 11 or 1130 each night. Luckily the sound didn't bother us too bad. Putting towels under the door and opening the bathroom door to kind of block the sound help.

Any other comments? - We loved the cozy feeling of the room; it was our first interior. However, we did not enjoy being at the front of the ship. With the Conquest class layout, there were only a few options for us to walk aft. Will book midship from now on.

Any specific problems with this cabin? Being aft and low, there is some vibration. If the seas are rough, lots of vibration. Didn't bother us, and we slept great.

Any other comments? This cabin is HUGE. HUGE!

It has two picture windows, a couch, a table and two chairs. It was big enough we could have 1 large and 2 carry on size suitcases open on the floor and still had plenty of room to walk. It was great and we will book this room on any conquest class ship we sail on in the future.

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – NO. Very noisy at times. There is an door to the hallway very close to this cabin right by the entrance to the pool area. When this door was left open you could hear everything going on around the pool. When the DJ played, it may has well have been in the cabin. Very noisy on nights when there were deck parties. I would move further forward along the hallway and probably downgrade to an 8 D and save a few dollars It is a convenient location.

This room was perfect! We traveled with 8 total, so 4 in each room. It was perfect for our family being able to run straight out to the Lido deck for the pool and for food. My only complaint is you are very far forward and pretty high up. You feel the ship moving WAY more than lower decks.

Stateroom Category – Porthole Interior

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes. Only time we heard noise was when a huge group of people congregated in the hall outside our room and talked really loudly. Not a reflection of the location; rude, inconsiderate people can happen anywhere.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Being at the front, it is a little far from the food areas, if you are looking to just grab a quick bite to eat.

Any other comments? - Nice cabin. No sofa. Right near the laundry room, which was very convenient.

Thank you for the review! Hope you enjoyed your cruise. We have next door 100206 booked for a September cruise.. thx

:oThank you thank you for posting this!!. We are looking to book Vista tomorrow and need help on deciding on a balcony cabin. I was concerned about the IMAX and now know I am right!!
