Well here is our answer!  I contacted Intride Loyalty, LLC.  That is the name on the bottom of the web pages on the Allstate Rewards. AARP will be the way to go now for anyone needing e-cards.

When we redid our membership a few weeks ago, it was 45.00 for 5 years and the gift was a circular version of the charging station, but it was for plugs, not USB ports.

That sounds handy, too. Dang, they didn't have any of these free gifts when I renewed last year, or any of the times before that.

If this thread is any indication, they're going to see a dip in business. It's a shame because the other companies that operated the rewards program in the past (at least 2 since I've joined) recognized the demand. Now it seems like they're going downhill.

I know some people don't like the thought of joining AARP just for Carnival cards, but it really is worth it. Have a look at their other benefits, you might find some of them useful. Plus it's only $12 for the first year right now if you sign up for automatic membership renewal. You can cancel that anytime and it won't automatically charge you next time. You save $10 on a $100 Carnival card, which nearly pays for a year membership. If you still have doubts, $12 isn't bad to try it out for a year. And no, you don't have to be 50 yrs. old anymore.

I have been AARP for years, my husband signed me up when he turned 50, then I was 50 a year later.  That was back in the days when you had to be 50.  We have been getting our Carnival cards from them. I need to start looking at their other gift cards.  I like that they are all e-cards.

I do think this will hurt them in the end. People want things instantaneously, we don’t want to pay and wait for delivery.

In the past, I liked using mostly physical cards. I don't know, there was just something about holding on to that physical card that made me feel more comfortable. But there were also times when something popped up and we needed a gift card (or more) fast and didn't have time to wait for physical cards to ship, so I liked a mix of both. Nowadays I'm fine with all e-cards, especially since Allstate's new shipping rates are so ridiculous.

Physical cards were nice for gifts.  I remember I would keep a stack of Lands End cards for school uniforms when my kids were in Catholic School. Boys grew out of pants quickly!

Once you have the card(s) how do you use them?  Call ahead with card number and attach to your account as OBC, or is it done after boarding?

Thank you.

after boarding, if you want it as OBC.
you can also apply gift cards toward bookings (outstanding balance, excursions, etc), prior to sailing.

If you want it as OBC, then you do that onboard.  If we know that we will spend a certain amount, we go ahead and purchase cruise cash ahead of time to avoid having to do it onboard.  But, you only want to purchase what you will use, because it is not refundable.

We also use them to pay for the cruise, internet and excursions that we book beforehand.

Thank you.  I’ve never used gift cards on a cruise line before so wasn’t sure if it could be applied to the booking cost.  One more thought, then, what is the limit on cards you can purchase or apply?

Look at AARP gift card limits, my advice is use the kiosk and deposit however much you want into your on board account. Don't by cruise cash as said before it not used not refundable.

We charge to room and use gift card to pay balance on board, you don't need to use the full balance of the card if you don't want to. If you gamble you can move OBC to your casino account and then cash out at the casino cage. We bought a $500 e-gift card from AARP several weeks ago and paid off our Christmas cruise, put a deposit down on a 2025 cruise and still have over $250 left over to take on our Vista cruise this weekend. Will run that balance through the casino and if lucky will cash out more the $250.

Have fun and enjoy your cruise.

When I just looked, there is a 25 card limit per month you can buy from AARP. But they have both $100 (for 90) and $500 (for 450).

You must be a member, and if you joined today, often you have to sign out, close your browser, then log back in.

The gift cards are under Rewards - Redeem - Members Only.

For AARP users, if you want a bunch of points for entering sweepstakes or gift cards that take points, here's a quick way to get a lot (if you haven't already). Go into My Account, then the Newsletters tab. Subscribe to all the newsletters that give you points (it'll say it in the description). It gives you the points immediately, then all you have to do is unsubscribe from each one and you get to keep the points. I got 9k-10k points.

Hey @Elaine5715Were you able to complete a purchase transaction?

I'm having issues with the AARP website.

I was never able to purchase these on Chrome on my PC or at all on my phone (safari). But when I used Firefox on my PC I could get it to work without getting an error.

I tried Firefox today from both phone and pc, neither worked. So frustrating. My bank said it's definitely on AARPs side as they don't even see any attempts come through. I'll keep trying.

I had this exact experience trying to purchase them - wouldn't go through on Chrome but worked just fine in Foxfire!

Thanks for posting about the issue.

They always seem to have web issues just as my final payment date gets close (8/7)-and of course so is my credit card's statement closing date that I'm waiting for before buying (8/3).

Not worth a chance of missing the discount just to get this on next month's statement, time to start trying to buy

I had issues the last time I bought them for our last cruise. I ended up changing the credit card I was using and for some unknown reason that worked without an issue. I always use FireFox as my main browser BTW. I would suggest if you have any ad blockers on that you turn it off while using their site, they can cause issues also.
