So noticed a few things on the deck plans that made me go hmm...

1. Steakhouse size was changed

2. Library bar switched sides and is smaller.

3. Piano bar switched sides.

4. (2) Hibachi/Teppanyaki tables appeared next to Bonsai Sushi

5. Red Frog Pub isn't labeled and is smaller.

6. Lots more interior cabins added to deck 3 interior (under the lounge).

7. Casino was slightly rearranged (Some tables moved starboard?)

8. Lots of extra interior rooms on aft deck 6.

9. Lido Market place looks different (Straight buffet lines, seating reconfig)

10.Ji Ji's got a bit smaller

Anyone else notice things? Any thoughts?

Which ship are you comparing the deck plans to?

Thanks for doing this.

Thanks. Most of the changes don't phase me one way or another. Not sure if anyone had looked. Not a fan of the added rooms under the disco/theatre. Curious about the tables near Bonsai.

Saturday fun :-)

I missed the Red Frog. We loved it on the Vista and was looking for it on the Horizon deck plans but could not find it. I thought they had eliminated it on the new ship.

I learned from booking a cabin on the Vista that the original set of deck plans that they post aren't always accurate. As they build some time things change. We booked a 4j on the lido deck and when a newer version came out closer to launching the ship. Our cabin had been changed into a handicap accessible. We were initially upset and called about a room change but nothing else was available. After sailing in this cabin we realized that the cabin was one of the nicest cabins that we have stayed in.

On Carnivals website when you can check off each ship and do a comparison, two things were x'd out on Horizon. One, Red Frog Pub and two, Guy's Pig & Anchor. Skybox sports bar was also added on Horizon and had an x for Vista.

With the long lines reported for Pig & Anchor, maybe the Horizon will have a new, larger venue for it?

But there is a skybox sports bar on the Vista. I agree that while these early deck plans are nice to look at and get a sense of what's there, the finals may be different. Note the differences between the Dream, Magic and Breeze. Personally, I'd hate to sail on the same ship, same setup different name. There needs to be something unique to each.

I don't see how they could back down on the change they made to the main theatre in this class of ships. Maybe in the XL class. They knew it on Sunshine, and definitely see it on Vista. Not a chance they would remove the number of guest rooms necessary to do a traditional theatre.

Maybe P&A moves into the Red Frog Pub spot as a full time restaurant? The area that the foosball tables are in on the Vista is grayed out. Might be the spot for the smoker.

I would be more than shocked if they changed their plans for the main theater, what would be your idea of an improvement in the Liquid Lounge?

I would hope for less posts that block viewing and for better sound, less reverb, at the rear under the deck above. I would assume though that the ship's structure above the LL area dictates the support needed. Given the other venues for entertainment, wondering how attended the Liquid Lounge is after the production shows? Jammed packed to the rafters with boogie party all night long (aged myself , there) would justify the removable seating. Less attendance than a poor piano bar player, would not.

I just read that the sight lines were bad and they needed more room in the Liquid Lounge.

I have cruised on both the Breeze and Vista. I know they are different class of ships. The Horizon if it rolls out with the same deck plans will garner the same level of criticism the Vista is currently getting when it comes to the design of certain venues.

The steakhouse was sold out every night on our recent Vista cruise. The problem with this venue is it has outside tables that were never used. Why is this? Have to wonder who wants to set out on a windy deck even with the additional windbreakers it' still has an affect on the overall ambiance.

The Red Pub bar on the Vista is too large. A bunch of wasted space. On the Breeze it was too small.

The Piano Bar on the Vista has a support pole right in the middle of the venue so switching sides on the Horizon would make sense. Carnival realized this was a design flaw.

The biggest vocal concern does surround the main theatre. The line of sight is terrible in the balcony seats. Not sure why they felt the need to use this space as a multiple venue. It does not attract the guests for "dancing".

This is my opinion so take it for what it is worth, nothing!!! Carnival had positive feedback on The Breeze and wanted a vessel to be just as of attractive but wanted more zest for its guests. I wonder if they wanted to offer and grasp the same big ship feel RCCL has but fit it in at a fraction of the gross tonnage on a smaller scale.

Carnival is facing an identity crisis on the Vista Class of ships. They want to be everything to everyone instead of being focused on what they do best. All cruise lines go through this learning curve.

In my opinion the Dream Class design is much more superior to the Vista Class when it comes public space functionality.
