What is the weirdest thing you ever seen happening on an NCL ship! Just Curious.

The cruise line employees were very tight lipped about the situation, but I do know that there was a dead body in one cabin and the person across the hall "disappeared" the next day, and their cabins were taped off for the duration of the cruise...

You're saying there was a murder aboard Norwegian Epic last December?

Was this "murder" over new year? If so it was a woman who'd had a mental breakdown and was assigned to her cabin until we got back to Barcelona, the doc declared her medically unfit and she was confined to her cabin for the rest of the cruise, about 2 nights in total and a security guy sat outside 24/7 making sure she didn't get out

I think you mean a year and a half ago, because the Epic was in the Caribbean this past December.

I would expect the staff and crew on board to be discreet about it if there was a murder on board, but it would eventually have to be reported to the authorities on land and the news would get out…

Our first cruise there was a guy that was having a lot of fun parading his girl around all the dining rooms, bars and public areas while she wore sequined super short dresses. I mean so short that her naughty bits were peaking out with every step! After a few days, they became the talk of the ship. Eventually NCL told them to knock it off, and they were never seen again....But I still look for them on every cruise!!!!

Man o man, I wish some of you would stop using that tiny font. I have a 24 in monitor and still can't read it because it is so small.

Maybe change your settings?

On my last cruise on the Getaway, there was a generally obnoxious group of 20-30 year olds that we kept running into all over the ship. Apparently they were celebrating a divorce, and they were mildly annoying...but mostly fine. About 4 nights in though, they showed up at Howl at the Moon wearing character onesie pj's. Wonder Woman, Ninja Turtle, Eeyore, etc. and the one male in their group was trying to pick up girls dresses as a 6'5 Snuggle (like the fabric softener) bear 😂

I almost feel naïve about relaying this....I know a ship is like a small city but in all my cruises have never encountered this before ...names have been changed to protect the innocent :) My last NCL cruise I was sharing a cabin with a female friend and our male friend decided to go with a solo cabin. Reader digest...after mustard we all went our own way exploring. I was in one of the outdoor bars relaxing and a woman asked if the chair across from me open. I said yes, and she introduced herself, she was a solo traveler ...I said I was here with 2 other friends. I mentioned my male friends name Jason and she said Jason from **** and I was shocked....I said yes. The ship had over 4000 people and we had only been at sea a short time. We chatted and she left.. I later teasingly asked Jason about her and he was surprised .....he remembered her, she had told him her nickname was "bubblicious" he is a very conservative guy but friendly ....and yes I teased him relentlessly. Over the cruise I had run into her a few times ......she was on her way to the bars and she wanted me to join her....lol my fav was casino so I always said maybe we would meet up. Jason also kept running into her....on his last encounter with her in a bar she took out her boob and shook it in his face and said this is my money maker on the cruise and briefly went into encounters.....poor guy because he is such a gentleman he didn't know what to say and then made an effort to avoid her rest of cruise. Being the good friend I am I was supportive ha ha :). Now I am positive this is not something that is NCL exclusive, not NCL fault......I enjoy Carnival Cruise and I don't believe they are the trashy party boat like so many depict them to be....But when you get a small city of people together...well ...anything can happen :)

On my cruise on the Jewel many years ago my family and I saw someone throw up on the floor. In a matter of minutes people with hazmat outfits on came to clean up the floor. I had no idea that it was serious business if someone looses their lunch.

This is probably just rude behavior but I chalked it up as weird.

Someone sitting in one of the specialty restaurants was loudly

complaining that there was not enough crab in his crab cakes.

Out comes one of the chefs who starts to apologize! Come on,

why make someone apologize for such a subjective thing and

besides you are on vacation, have a drink and relax. Weird.

Well, on a trip to the Pier in San Francisco, I ordered crab cakes and returned them. I don't want to pay $15+ for breading, and that's what it was 90% breading and filler and very little crab.

We were on the Epic a couple of years ago and I saw where a baby spit up and a quarter size drop of formula landed on the floor. The Hazmat team came in and cleaned it up.

I'm confused. What were you doing with mustard?

A guy passed out/fell asleep at a table at a recent Glow Party at Spice H20. The table was out of the way so he wasn't bothering anyone/in the way, a senior officer came over to check if he was ok and left. But no, his wife decided to make him get up and try to walk...big mistake because the movement caused him to throw up what was probably an entire day of eating & drinking :o

Last cruise on the Gem (4-29 - 5-6-17) an older couple showed up to breakfast and lunch everyday at Cagney's dressed in what looked like homemade matching Dashiki like outfits. Apparently they cruise the Gem every couple of weeks.

That is perfectly acceptable and I would have done the same thing. That is not rude or weird.

I was actually referring to them disrupting the dining room for aprox. 15 min loudly complaining about something and ruining our meal and probably those around them.

Maybe not weird but unexpected. On the BA Nov 2015 a woman was being assisted into the pool via the, for lack of the proper term, handicapped arm/lift. The darn thing broke, dropping her into the pool and hitting her on the head for good measure. It was pretty startling and sad.

Not THE weirdest thing ... but it was funny. Think it was 07/29/12 to 08/04/12 we were on NCL to Alaska. We left Seattle & it was GORGEOUS. Sunny & warm. Woke next morning to cold 60 degree weather & rain. Was like that until we got to Victoria, Canada. Friday afternoon, sunny & warm, the band was playing by the pool. DH and I were walking across the pool deck. Band started playing Sweet Home Alabama. Was just the intro and I yelled "woohoo ... turn it up!" .... Nothing. Dead silence. SO many eyes staring at me! Band kept playing but apparently no one 'got it'. So we laughed and just kept walking.

During lunch at open seating a couple were sharing the table with us and the woman kept taking bread from the bread basket and tearing it apart and eating a tiny piece and then putting all the larger pieces on MY bread plate. When the server took the plates away it looked like I had wasted all the bread. I didn't say anything the first time but we were unlucky and had them at a table again later in the cruise. When she did the same thing, I put the bread on her plate and asked her to please use her own plate.

After that, a couple that shared the table the second time used to meet us at lunch and we got a table for 4 of us so we wouldn't have to sit with that woman again.

We were on a 2 night cruise to nowhere on the Jewel years ago and there was a big group of 20 somethings onboard. I believe they were celebrating a wedding. They all showed up at Bar City dressed up like it was the roaring 20's, Flapper dresses and Zoot Suits. It looked so cool.

In 2013, my husband and I were on the Epic. Leaving St. Maarten, we headed up to the pool deck for sail away. We noticed several other passengers clustered on one side of the ship, facing a Celebrity ship that had docked next to us. We assumed that they had gone to the rail to wave to some of the Celebrity passengers who were on their balconies. And then we spotted what everyone was looking at!

One one of the balconies, an older gentleman was wearing nothing but a Borat style, bright green, over the shoulder speedo-type contraption. We was gyrating his hips and doing his best to call attention to himself. His wife (or female cruising companion) was seated on the balcony next to him with an expression of "why do you always do this?" She was embarrassed, but clearly not shocked. We guessed that he did that sort of thing regularly and had likely brought that, um, bathing suit precisely for sail away "shows".

Fortunately, we had our phones on us and snapped a few pics for posterity...and so that we didn't sound crazy when trying to explain what we had seen!

Edited: I just zoomed into the photo and noticed that the balcony divider is open between their balcony and the balcony next door and that there is another woman with what looks to be a video camera! [emoji50]
