There are very big differences in the spa on the Escape and the Bliss. Since you only saw photos and were not on them it would be hard for you to tell. I was just on the Bliss and I did like the spa it was smaller then the Escape. The changing rooms on the Bliss are much smaller with no access directly to the spa. You also on the Escape have an area in the changing room where you can relax on loungers. The Bliss does not have this. On the Escape there are two areas with water, tea and oranges. On the Bliss there is only 1 area so you have to walk all the way across the spa if you are sitting on the far side. The areas where the regular loungers are is a little cramped on the Bliss. There was much more room on the Escape. And the Escape has two circular loungers on either end of the regular loungers and we loved those. They did not have them on the Bliss. Did I like the spa...yes on both ships. But there is a difference. If I was going to say which one I liked best I would choose the Escape. Did I have a great time...Yep!!! I have not yet seen the Encore so not sure if it will be just like the Bliss or the Escape.

Wow, hard to believe the changing rooms are smaller on the bliss compared to the Escape. I thought the mens room was small on the Escape compared to the Gem

Here is a walk thru tour of the Spa on the Escape....

As for the spa on Escape and Bliss: Remember they totally changed the layout of the decks. On the Escape the spa is deck 16 forward. On the Bliss you´ll find the Garden Café forward and the spa on deck 16 aft. And therefore it´s a totally different set up on both ships.

The thermal suite on the Bliss (now located aft to make way for the observation lounge) is smaller than other -away class ship (bad). While the Escape made improvements to move the saunas to the outside with windows (which would have been ideal for Alaska) the saunas have moved back to the interior and are smaller.

The changing rooms are about the same size. Don’t recall loungers in the Escape changing rooms.

So,,, the important fact is that the Bliss has a lot fewer passengers than the Escape. Hence a smaller Thermal Suite.

My big gripe is that they moved the Thermal Suite aft. But they forgot to move the Spa rooms aft (they are still up near the forward elevator lobby). So you have to traverse the ship to get to the spa. The “selling point” of spa rooms was that they were right near the spa,,,, not. This same “error” was repeated on the Encore. We have a spa mini booked on the Encore, at the opposite side of the ship from the spa.

I am a bit confused by your post I don't see where the Spa Mini Suites are near the forward elevators. They are pretty much Mid Ship between forward and aft except for 4 that they added as extras like 15180/15780. They are on the same deck as the other "Spa cabins: Haven and Balcony. For Logitical reasons the Spa Minis are located where the other Mini Suites are located in the decks below. I do not see a way they could have placed them any closer due to deck lay outs.

I have not had the pleasure of sailing on the other Breakaway Class ships only Jewel and Dawn Class so have no comparison that the Bliss Spa was smaller but thought the size was very good. It was never crowded. I would have liked to have the Saunas have a window (loved the one on the Pearl) but have to say that I still loved the set up for the Spa on the Bliss at the aft. I love the Wake views.

Our most recent cruise we were in The Haven and I walked every morning to the gym, then spent a few hours in the Thermal Suite. I honestly thought it felt like it was much closer than it was. It never took more than a couple of minutes to walk there. Not like other ships I have been on that felt like the distance was much further from one end to the other. The Bliss is most definitely the best laid out ship I have ever been on.

We are sailing the Encore next winter (2020). We are super excited and it is fun for my son and I to follow along the thread to watch the ship being built. Just curious, has anyone heard any leaks as far as what is going to be the entertainment on the Encore?

Nice photo find, faster than myself! :)

Not sure, I would say identical. The edges on that piece of roof could be finishing parts?

If you study the build photo, it looks like an air conditioning unit on roof ...then compare to the finished, it's hidden!!! So I would say a lot a trim to be added to pack it out, hence more length and bulk. So yes! I believe this is the "wave" bar. I feel I will be stood at this bar alot. On a second thought it may seem smaller now LOL.. not sure that the stuff on top is an airco, in this stage of construction Meyer hoists and lowers lots of things around on these blocks and parts. :)

But we will be making our own deck plans by Christmas! ;p

Encore will sail a 2 day Bremerhaven (Germany) - Southampton (UK) industry taster.

"Wilkinson added that the UK trade would be invited on a two-day shakedown sailing on Norwegian Encore from Bremerhaven to Southampton in October next year."

http://www.travelweekly.co.uk/articles/313077/norwegian-cruise-line-now-appeals-to-bucket-and-spade-family-market

With the trade peeps going in October and the transatlantic departing Nov 2nd there seems to be space for a revenue taster in between?

They did the same with Bliss, the trade was disembarking the day we embarked so they'll probably get on 10/31/19 and show up on 11/02/19 for this one as well.
