SuzD123 Posted March 3, 2018 #51 Share Posted March 3, 2018 Have daughter in her 20's and she gets the looks since she is diamond and close to plus. (The more I think about it, maybe she is getting the look because she is beautiful.) She has been lucky to be able to cruise with DH and I over the years and on college christmas breaks and an extra cruise with me now and again. We did the longest cruises we could afford, and many out of Bayonne, NJ (no flying required). We did a lot of inside cabins with 4 adults as well. Same with my daughter...she has been my sailing partner more often than my DH. Since our cruises also meant we have to fly (we live in the middle of nowhere and too far to drive) we’ve also splurged with suites = double points = reached Diamond status much faster than if we hadn’t. papaflamingo Posted March 3, 2018 #52 Share Posted March 3, 2018 I have been Diamond since 2010, and D+ for years. I prefer the CL or SL as they are usually quieter with less people. I've always had great service in CL or SL's, mostly great in the DL. Usually it's dependent on the crowds and the DL tends to be more crowded. As for "being stared at," NEVER. Of course it may be more of MY attitude. I was once told by a very wise person "What makes you think you are so important that everyone is looking at you? And if you think you are that important, then you are right, they are looking at you." I don't find myself "that important."
FLACRUISER99 Posted March 3, 2018 #53 Share Posted March 3, 2018 Jewel has a very nice CL, I think a bit larger than the DL. You can sit around a real bar. There is an outside area too.I believe that is the case with all Radiance class ships.

ninethirtynine Posted March 3, 2018 #58 Share Posted March 3, 2018 Only difference is who is allowed. CL: Suite Guests, Pinnacle, and Diamond Plus DL: Pinnacle, Diamond Plus, and Diamond The diamond lounge has windows.

NavarreCruiser Posted March 3, 2018 #63 Share Posted March 3, 2018 You're welcome, and as FLCRUISER99 has noted, the same setup exists on Radiance, Brilliance, and Serenade too. We are doing the Serenade TA in late April. Any plans for drydock for the Serenade OTS before that? Will there still be a CL tor that crossing? And Bob your location shows Central Illinois, where? Many years ago I attended U of I in Urbana/Champaign and continued to live in Champaign for a number of years after that.
Clarea Posted March 3, 2018 #64 Share Posted March 3, 2018 The diamond lounge has windows. Not on Harmony and Symphony. This is why we mentioned that this was ship specific.

I think she just missed converting to Suite Lounge. MB announced moving more towards the tiers on Presidents Cruise? This included Suite Lounge. bonsai3s Posted March 3, 2018 #70 Share Posted March 3, 2018 On the Ovation: During the Asia sailings, the Diamond Lounge (nice ocean views from the windows on the starboard side) was turned into a high-roller casino. The DL was moved to the adjacent Music Hall. From Asia to Australia, the high-roller casino was converted back to the DL and the Music Hall becomes an overflow for sailings with large numbers of D's. (The crew said: "Asians love to gamble but don't drink.....Aussies don't gamble but love to drink.") The Concierge is located all the way back (aft) on Deck 12 with incredible views. The hors d'oeuvres were a bit better in the evening and more waiters per passengers. (The waiters actually had time to speak/chat to passengers.) It was relatively quiet most of the day and never a line for the cappuccino machine. (Bing, the concierge, was helpful, lovely, and...funny.) :)

steveru621 Posted March 4, 2018 #73 Share Posted March 4, 2018 Brilliance OTS is scheduled for drydock in April of this year. Deck plans for 2018-2019 still show a Concierge Club and Diamond Club. Certainly not definitive, but other Radiance class ships have not been converted to SL. The only thing that would need to happen is a sign change, which hasn't occurred yet. IMHO Radiance class does not have enough suites to support a SL.
