What's your favorite bar?

It looks like there are at least 9 bars on the Sunshine. We will be on this ship in July. What is your favorite bar and why?

Red Frog Rum Bar, Blue Iguana Tequila bar, Havana Bar, Casino bar, Sports bar, Alchemy, Library, Piano bar, Atrium bar -- maybe there are even more I'm overlooking. Which are your faves?

I’m sailing with Carnival in March 2019 for the first time since 2019, so I’m interested in this thread, also.

I love going to the serenity deck's bar and we have a lot of fun at the Piano Bar. I don't get the Alchemy thing. We tried it on the Victory and were not impressed at all. Thanks but I will stick to my tried and true. That's why Carnival offers so many options - it's not a one size fits all world.

We've also found some bars where no one was there at all but us and the bartender and that's nice and private. Asthma girl here can't do the casino bars either.

The Red Frog Rum Bar was our favorite last year, really liked the different rum drinks and a trio of Indonesian bar waiters kept us entertained and made sure we never went thirsty!! :D

Red Frog when it is an actual pub and not just a bar standing there with drinks.

The pub atmosphere is lots of fun with games and music and a place to dance and great rum to taste!

I also like Alchemy but that is just a place to drink while Red Frog is a place to drink and also be entertained!

This is one reason we enjoy Carnival - choices:)

We were disappointed in Alchemy on the Pride. Enjoyed the atmosphere at Piano Bar, but usually "ended up" here and already had a drink with us. I do remember them refilling my water for me one night and they were very kind.

We will likely try some Sangria pitcher(s) on our next cruise.

Loved RFP, had a decent embarkation drink from RFRB, and hated atrium bar (both service and drink).

Great answers! I hear a lot about Alchemy so we will have to give that a try for sure. I also want to check out the piano bar. Maybe we will just try them all! LOL

ChicoCA, you remind me of my husband. Whenever we go to a party or whatever that has beer available, he never complains about the brand offered. If asked what his favorite beer is, it is "Cold & Free". Can't go wrong with that!

Alchemy bar - hands down. The only exception to that for us was on the Magic a couple of years ago. We do not like how it is tucked away, and when we went the first day, the standard menu drinks did not taste like they should. We never went back that ship and ended up split between Red Frog and lobby.

Alchemy followed by piano bar. Alchemy is in a perfect location to enjoy pre-dinner cocktails while listening to live music at Ocean Plaza. Love the creative menu and that the bartenders will make you something unique based on your preferences. For example, my DH does not like anything sweet but does love citrus and anything fizzy. They made him customize drinks based on what he likes.

We like the piano bar as well but it is utterly dependent on who is at the piano. First time on Sunshine the guy was great, a lot of fun, very welcoming when new folks came in and was wildly talented. Second time on Sunshine was a bust. The guy played ok but did not really engage with passengers. Almost felt like we were intruding.

This has been my experience with the piano bars. It's hit or miss.

Alchemy bar hands down, have sat there and loved it before dinner or whatever.

I love their martini sampling deal. Its irresistable and Im not even a serious drinker.

Be sure and look for the martini deal, i think its 3 about half sized martinis of your choice for maybe $14? cant remember. so pretty.

Someone else can probably remember the deal better. Its limited so be sure and get there before it starts.

My friend also did some kind of class there where you learn to make drinks and got a certificate. Also a stellar deal if you can find it. Its popular enough you have to search hard.

I think the sampler was 4 minis for $18 or $19. You could choose from around 8 options (nothing customized). This is not included in Cheers.

Many people like to stick with the frozen drinks like a Miami Vice or a Mudslide or other sometimes pre-made drinks from the Pool side bars. Others like to broaden their horizons and enjoy a crafted cocktail put together by mixologists using fresh ingredients and fresh fruit. I believe that when this thread is complete, you'll see you're in the minority concerning the Alchemy Bar and hopefully you'll give it another try on a future Carnival cruise. Otherwise, enjoy your tried and true.
