Casino at Seas Question

Do cruisers get on board faster?

Thanks.

In Port of Miami got on much quicker! They had a special check-in for casino guests and no one was there.

Port of Livorno(Rome) No.

I guess depends on the port you're leaving from. If they do have casino check in it's very nice in my experience.

Hello for those that booked through Casino at Seas, can you tell me the benefits if there are any? Do cruisers get on board faster?

Thanks.

There is typically a special line for CAS guests to use to register at the port. I don't know if they get on board any faster than anyone else though.

Primary benefit of booking through CAS is that you will generally only pay port taxes, gratuities, and fees for your cruise. They will offer you a "complimentary" cabin of one level or another depending on your previous play on the ships. You can take the comp cabin, and pay the difference to upgrade to something better if you like.

The rest of the benefits have to do with life on board:

- goodies in your room from the casino

- "free" drink card from the casino, although with the advent of the UBP, this is less of a perk. But the drink card is good for bottles of water in the casino, which the UBP does not cover. And as you advance through the CAS levels, you get a better selection of liquor.

- After you amass a certain number of points on the cruise, you can have those applied as credit to your final bill from the ship.

- CAS hosts can offer free specialty dinners and spa treatments. But again, with the advent of the UDP, this isn't much of a benefit anymore. And lately they seem to be getting tighter with them.

In NY, there is not only a separate line for check-in, but you are given priority embarkation. I read that NY may be the only port that offers this though.

Yes...!!! In NYC ...CAS boarding is very nice! Last 2 times I sailed ( and not in suite) upon arrival, sent to separate desk for check in ..and usually given #1 or 2 for boarding . :D

In Miami, we find the CAS line to check-in and get boarding passes is usually empty therefore faster than going down to the Platinum line. They really don't seem to direct people to this line so you have to look for it.

Then after we get our boarding cards we go with our Platinum Plus for embarkation.

We have and did not see anything special for CAS at PC. However, we were Haven both times we cruised out of there (also CAS though), so we weren't looking too hard since we just went to the Haven area.

Two weeks ago, NYC - Gem sailing ...

Platinum/Plus - get Zone #1 for priority boarding ... followed Special Needs, probably no more than 75 in the roped off lounge area.

CAS - separate check-in area, like us - on the opposite side beyond security ... Zone #5 for boarding, much larger group waiting to board.

Ship was ready to board early. After Haven escorts & Special Needs, we started out a little after 11 am ... Zone #1 thru 4 called together, didn't take long to move the small group along. Then, CAS or group 5 announced - our friends sitting on the opposite side were not far behind.

Different ports do things different and here in NYC, Platinum used to follow CAS till a year ago, but ... no longer, for now. Dual status checking-in, well - ask to find out the pecking order for boarding.

How much do you have to play at craps and table games to earn points? My last cruise I played craps for about a 5 hour stretch for not huge money but $10-20 pass with full odds plus plenty of other action and when I checked the next day I had almost no points (something like 25).

You don't get any points or credit for the "odds" because the house has no advantage on those bets.

I guess but for my $500 donation to the ship I was surprised I didn't earn any points. If I had I would have gone back to play more but I didn't play again after that. Now that I think about it...it was probably 2 or 3 hours but still. Now that I know I guess I will stick to Pai Gow.
